My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Well then...

First off, if you like anything in this, message me. The worst I can do is not respond...

Uhm... So... My name is Mike. I find self-summaries difficult to write, because other than during job interviews, it's hard for me to be all self... gushy. I'll put it this way, I very rarely find people who dislike me. I'm just a nice guy, and not like... super weird Flanders nice, but I'm funny (apparently) and fun to be around (apparently).

And despite what my profile says, I don't actually dislike cats, I'm just pretty allergic. I actually love cats, which makes it all that much more tragic.

Also noticed an abundance of cosplayers showing up in my match searches. Which is kind of awesome...
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm currently working for Meijer. Normal retail stuff, but happy to be working. I live at home right now with my dog Titus. Don't worry, I'm not a bum, I've just had some bad luck with layoffs, and am trying to get my foot in somewhere I can make a career out of.

Otherwise, I'm just taking walks when it's not too cold, and trying to better myself as much as I can.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I'm good at making people laugh. I'm also good at just being optimistic, even in the face of some pretty adverse stuff. I'm always on the side of "well, it can only get better at this point". And a lot of people think I'm patient to a fault, sometimes remaining calm even when I should be exploding... or something.

I can also kick your butt at trivia, and probably other board games too. And not just Monopoly, but weird German board games too. I love video games like any red blooded American, but whether I am good is up for debate. Though, I do love me some Rock band (3). Mostly for the karaoke aspect...
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm pretty quiet at first, and generally stay that way until I'm spoken to. I just assume if someone wants me to talk, they'll talk to me? Or I'm shy, which is really the honest truth. However, once I open up, I can talk forever, so feel free to tell me to shut up.

Maybe you'll think I look cuddly? I've heard I have the qualities of a teddy bear. I imagine that's a good thing. Unless you're allergic to teddy bears, in which case you may not want to message me. (I know, that whole paragraph is stupid)
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Favorite Movies: Serenity, Star Wars, Evil Dead, Halloween, Seven, Dark Knight, Brick, Moon, Dawn of the Dead, Inglorious Basterds, Kill Bill, Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, Shawn of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, Sin City, Anything by Hitchcock, Anything by Mel Brooks, Dogma, and I could go on and on, but I'm just looking at my DVD shelf.

Favorite Music:
Top 5:
1. Project 86
2. Chevelle
3. Muse
4. Blindside
5. Five Iron Frenzy

I don't care about music so much, but at the same time I couldn't live without it. The only thing I'm not crazy about is country, pop, and most rap.

Favorite Shows: Doctor Who, Game of Thrones, Venture Brothers, Dexter, Mad Men, Breaking Bad, Community, Modern Family, Archer, Cowboy Bebop, Firefly, Ghost Adventures, Walking Dead, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, and whatever else is on the DVR/Hulu.

Favorite Books: Star Wars. Seriously though, mostly sci-fi and horror. World War Z is a favorite. Do comics count? I really love Grant Morrison's Batman and Walking Dead.

Favorite Food: I love me some Chicken. I just discovered Sushi, which is AMAZING. I love trying new things... unless it's got onions. It's not the flavor, it's the texture. Yuck.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
My Faith - I have a unique take on Christianity. I'm not so much focused on dogma and religion as much as just following the teachings of Christ.

The Internet - It is a great source of boredom relief.

Glasses - I enjoy being able to see. I'm like Velma from Scooby Doo without my glasses.

Movies - I just love watching movies... and TV, but... their like the same thing now thanks to Netflix, right?

Soap - You need an explanation?

Titus - He's my dog, I'd be pretty upset if he was gone.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
What's next in my life or what I can do to improve it. Either that or about all the amazing ideas that I will forget before I remember to write down.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Hopefully hanging out with friends, and if not, then I'm either working or chilling at home with my dog.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm going to be pretty honest here. I want to be better. I want a better job, a better life, a place of my own, to be more healthy. I want to improve everything. I don't want life to be acceptable anymore, I want it to be good or great! I want someone who will actually be a partner, and not just a bystander.
You should message me if
Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
- You like a nice funny affectionate guy.
- If you want to make a new friend. Seriously, I'm not even specifically looking for a relationship. I love making new friends. I've made facebook friends with people on this site! Honest!
- If you've got a little geek blood flowing in you, I've never dated someone with similar hobbies, and I figure it might be nice.
-If you're looking for a partner, and not "just" a boyfriend.
- If you're either Christian, or at least don't mind that my faith is important to me.
- If you like what you read. Like I said, I'm probably too shy to actually message someone, but if you 5 star this profile, you really owe it to yourself to send a message, right? Riiiiiiight?
