I'm a stubbly classical musician with a penchant for rainy weather. I have four (somewhat large) tattoos and a plan to get more. I'm a big-picture person, sometimes to a fault. I'm a licensed scuba diver, yet I have a fear of drowning. I have an addictive personality, which I consider to be both an asset and a liability. I consider sleep a form of recreation. Sometimes I get anxious in large groups of people. Travel is incredibly important to me, I've been to eight countries aside from my homeland. Every time I visit a new place I am more inspired and energized. I'm fascinated by war photography.

Books: Crime & Punishment, East of Eden, Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, The Road, Scientific Progress Goes Boink, Zen & The Art of Motorcycle Maintenance. Lately I've been dabbling in a bunch of books, slowing making my way through several at once, including a re-reading of "East of Eden" by John Steinbeck.

I have a bad habit of starting books and not finishing them.

Also, although though it's not a book, Achewood plays a significant role in my life.

Movies: Children of Men, Dr. Strangelove, Event Horizon, The Fountain, I ♥ Huckabees, In Bruges, 21 Grams, Videodrome, and anything with zombies and/or shotguns. The complete oeuvres of Darren Aranofsky, Danny Boyle, Alejandro González Iñárritu and Christopher Nolan.

Classical music is my true love, jazz is a close second. I listen to a lot of 20th century composers like John Adams, Alban Berg, György Ligeti, Steve Reich and Dmitri Shostakovich. Jazz-wise I listen to mostly modern stuff like The Claudia Quintet, Dave Holland and The Bad Plus.

Other musical favorites include: Björk, Boban Marković Orkestar, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Nick Drake, Fela Kuti, Mastodon, Queens of the Stone Age, The Roots, Elliott Smith, Tom Waits and Frank Zappa. I like at least a little of every genre, there is no type of music that I categorically refuse to listen to. Except maybe Bachata...

Food: ALL Mexican food. The quality of food I eat on a daily basis has risen exponentially since I moved to Mexico. Street food will be my undoing.

TV: Adventure Time, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Archer, Bored to Death and Eastbound and Down.

Art, Coffee, Mahler's 2nd Symphony, This American Life, Radiohead, and my Nikon D80.
