Born and raised in Chicago, I moved back recently after a long time
in Seattle and the past several years in San Francisco. Still
questioning myself on that decision. I like to drink and smoke. I'm
always open to live music, gallery openings, and obscure movies.
Looking for like-minded folks of the female persuasion to help me
dip my feet back into this city.
I love the arts, foie gras, stretching my toes in sand, my cat,
Viognier and Barbera, Old Overholt, kissing earlobes, cigarettes at
3am and meeting the perfect stranger. Disorder is the greatest song
What I’m doing with my life
I do what I love. I design user experiences. I oblige conversations
with strangers. I'm secretly planning my escape to an undisclosed
city in Eastern Europe.
I’m really good at
Guessing games. Apparently, getting strangers to buy me shots.
Analysing user behaviour. Navigating this city. Approving female
wardrobe selections. Getting lost. Pinball.
The first things people usually notice about me
the smoke in my eyes
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Joy Division. Henry Miller again. Estopa, Parker Posey,
Raveonettes. All the artistic Woodys. Michel Legrand when it's
raining... Harlan Ellison and Ring Lardner on quiet nights. The
Jam, the Smiths and Gang of Four and the Cure. Cat Power, Nancy
Sinatra, Connie Francis, Naked Raygun, Stereolab, Stone Roses.
Dorothy Parker is grand. ' Hemingway. Louis CK is funny. I'll eat
anything. I respect vegetarianism as I have been there. An espresso
after a great meal.
The six things I could never do without
I spend a lot of time thinking about
How fun it would be if humans had tails that moved in sync to our
emotions like dogs n cats do.
On a typical Friday night I am
Carousing. Sometimes just re-watching Pandora's Box at home.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Alison K's Two Highways wets my eyes
You should message me if
You want to check out the MCA or a flick at Facets/Music Box. Or
have drink and talk about why
You're a really smart, funny, cute woman who loves their hair,
smells like a Matisse painting, knows how to handle a kitchen
knife, can dance in heels, who's traveled to Europe, and can keep
up on a jaunt up to Twin Peaks. Leftists and Lefties
If you can pull off wearing a hat or headscarf with pizzazz.
You are Anna Karina.
