I am rolling, with, and the punches.
My Self-Summary
Clean and dirty laundry: http://www.myspace.com/starving78 .
And chances are, my music describes more about me than anything I
could write here. If you'd like to taste, just take a bite:

I'm a 29+1 year old proud geek with a lot of love to give. I'm too
old to go bar-hopping and too young to take up knitting. I enjoy
the simple things in life. 2 + 2 = 22 jagass, and you ain't gonna
convince me otherwise.
I aim for simplicity in life. No, that doesn't mean I'm all about
doing nothing. It means I'm nothing about doing everything. I aim
for clearing my life of unnecessary social drama of all kinds and
focusing on achieving my goals of personal happiness and
contentment. That often means accosting large groups of small
people, or small groups of large people, or just people in general.
That also means that I will tell you that your ass looks fat in
those jeans if it does. Maybe this starts more drama in the long
run. Whatever.
I can fully enjoy a day of hiking, and I can fully enjoy a day of
doing nothing but laying in bed all day with someone I love
watching stupid TV show marathons. Like Golden Girls. Or Buffy.
Actually, I loathe both of those shows. Actually, I love Golden
Girls. Shhhh!
Like most everyone, I've been burned and wasted months of my life
stewing over matters of the heart, and I've come to realize overt
emotionalism is overrated and only manages to waste precious time.
Therefore, I aim to be honest and blunt if needed, and I've few
qualms about clearing obstacles out of my life because time is
simply too precious. That's what most old people say, anyway. I'll
take it from them.
I have a very sarcastic, morbid and biting sense of humor. I love a
girl that can take my snippiness and spit it back in my face with
equally offensive quips. If you're overly sensitive or can't take a
joke, you suck.
It's pretty safe to say that I'm a "softy". You'll never find me
shoveling manure into a raised pickup truck with sweat dripping off
my chiseled, rock-hard abs. I can take care of stuff when it needs
to be fixed, but I don't particularly look good while I'm doing
it.
My cat's name is Eddie (named after Big Ed in Twin Peaks). He's
overweight and has stomach problems.
I love geeky girls.
If your career supersedes love on your list of priorities, look
elsewhere and best of luck to you on your quest for fulfillment
through your occupation.
Some days I feel like looking clean cut and preppy, other days I
want to grow a big beard and mullet... and maybe braid them
together into one giant mass of folky manliness. I would post pics,
but I'm afraid it would be too much to handle and my inbox would
immediately be overrun with emails from girls begging me to let
them take a ride in my rad pickup. Sorry to disappoint,
ladies.
I don't have much of a family (just the folks in Arizona) and no
siblings (just a couple of half-siblings I know nothing about). I'm
very much looking forward to starting my own little army... ya
know, American dream... alcoholism, drug addiction, gambling
addiction, AA... all that stuff.
I over-use hyphens and ellipses........
I believe in true love and truly love that I believe.
I am highly idiosyncratic, sarcastic, neurotic, pessimistic. I'm
also awesome. Ask anyone.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm in graphic design. I'm one of the lucky few who actually found
his calling in life early on. Well, perhaps "calling in life" is a
little heavy, but it's a job I enjoy doing. I don't save lives or
make millions off the plight of others like I've always wanted to
do, but I make money and I get to make conference calls and have
meetings and stuff. So there.
I’m really good at
Listening, absorbing, cuddling, coddling, honesty, fidelity,
insulting you.
The first things people usually notice about me
My gorgeous face and my rad ass. Not so much. Maybe my height (or
lack thereof)? .. and my warped, blunt sense of humor.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
BOOKS: I'm not much of a reader. I'm far too visually oriented.
I've read only a handful of books, mostly Hunter S. Thompson. I
love poetry, too.
MOVIES: I'm very big into film. I am a huge Star Wars geek,
although I'm not the type to dress up and go to conventions. But I
have many good friends that do and I think it's pretty neato. I'm
pretty geeky about my TV and entertainment center... There's not
much I love more than curling up on the couch and having a
theater-like experience in my living room. Some of my favorites are
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, the Lord of the Rings
trilogy (the extended editions, of course), Amelie, pretty much
anything by David Lynch (Elephant Man, Twin Peaks, Lost Highway,
The Straight Story, etc), Vanilla Sky, Immortal Beloved, The
Fountain, About Schmidt, Big Fish, Crash, Willy Wonka and the
Chocolate Factory, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Fear &
Loathing in Las Vegas, American History X, A Mighty Wind, Best in
Show, This is Spinal Tap, Magnolia, Cast Away, The Big Lebowski
("nobody fucks with the Jesus") Silence of the Lambs, Superman
Returns, Kill Bill, Schindler's List, The Shawshank
Redemption...
I'm also a gamer. I can't really sit down and play for hours at a
time, but I get good use out of my PS3 and 360. Right now I'm
playing Fallout 3, Little Big Planet, Fable II and Left 4
Dead.
MUSIC: I love all kinds of music, ranging from punk to country to
folk to death metal, prog rock, math rock, funk, classical...
Basically, if it's "good", it doesn't matter what genre it is.
Music plays a very significant role in my life. Currently, I'm
listening mostly to this neo-folk movement.... artists like AA
Bondy, Bon Iver, Andrew Bird, Avett Brothers, Jose Gonzalez, Rocky
Votolato, Iron & Wine. My favorites from all genres include:
Amos Lee, George Jones, Johnny Cash, Sufjan Stevens, Jim Reeves,
The Books, Aphex Twin, Autechre, Danny Elfman, David Bowie,
anything involving MIKE PATTON (Tomahawk, Fantomas, MR. BUNGLE [my
favorite album of all time is Disco Volante], Lovage, Faith No
More, Peeping Tom, etc), Nine Inch Nails, Secret Chiefs 3, Kronos
Quartet, The Ditty Bops, Frank Black, Pixies, Fugazi,
Estradasphere, I.S.S. (Ideal Social Situation), Don Salsa, Beck,
Yona Kit, The Boredoms, Melt Banana, Ruins, Primus, NOMEANSNO, They
Might Be Giants, Ween, Tin Hat Trio, Nirvana, Feist, Lisa Gerrard,
John Zorn, The Jesus Lizard, Oxes, The Residents, Sleepytime
Gorilla Museum, Igor Stravinsky, Das EFX, Busta Rhymes, Cypress
Hill, Sigur Rós, Radiohead, Tenacious D, Dazzling Killmen, Weird Al
Yankovic... and I'm a sucker for movie soundtracks
FOOD: Can really take it or leave it... most of the time I see it
as a simple necessity, like bathing and sleeping.
The six things I could never do without
1. A sense of humor
2. Good music
3. Good movies
4. Time alone
5. Daily walks
6. Dunkin' Donuts coffee
I spend a lot of time thinking about
... how I think too much. I'm infinitely curious about how the
world works, how nature works, how the human mind works.
On a typical Friday night I am
Having dinner out or just curled up watching a movie or stuck in my
house doing freelance work that I wish I didn't sign up for... or
maybe at a geeky gathering of some silly sort.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
I may come off as pretty damn cynical a lot of the time, but that's
my form of optimism. I wear my heart on my sleeve. I also curse
like a sailor... for emphasis, of course.
You should message me if
... you feel like it.
