I am gentle, imaginative, and passionate.

My Self-Summary

I could be the guy who gives up his seat on the lifeboat off the Titanic. More likely, I would find my purpose in life by being the guy who goes out into the blizzard to dig out the car from under the snow and clear the walkway. I would come back inside with my nose sniffling and on the verge of frostbite to find a smiling face popping out of a thick bathrobe sipping a hot beverage. Then I would smile too before collapsing from a heart attack.

Until such time as an opportunity for a heroic death presents itself, I can walk up behind you and give you a hug to let you know how I feel.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Podcasts: The Geologic Podcast, Point of Inquiry, Wait Wait Don't Tell Me, The Vinyl Cafe, Rachel Maddow, Seven Second Delay.

TV: House, Gordon Ramsay, Pushing Daisies, Penn & Teller, Top Gear.

Food: Japanese, Indian, Chinese. Would like to get into Bento. Can't get my mochi to come out right.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Human powered helicopters. Arguments on both sides of the religion - atheism debate. The practicality of democracy and freedom of speech. You can smell oregano but not salt. You can taste salt but not oregano. Why can't I get more gluten even when I spend so much time kneading? I bet I could make a better tomato sauce if I grew my own tomatoes. If I like to buy things at Ikea, does that make me 'ordinary'? Shudder...
