I am a man, stumbling, and awake.

My Self-Summary

"...Finally, someone may construct, or will construct:
on the domed ceiling of the innermost cubicle of his house, where he mostly lives and sleeps, such a figure with the colours in it. and when he comes out of this house he will perceive not so much the spectacle of individual things, but the figure of the universe and its colours."
-( "Giordano Bruno and the Hermetic tradition" by Frances Yates)

Given a chance I would make the world collapse, pack up my books and shift to a cave in the Himalayas.

I take to long walks and paddle from street to street for hours together. Not very good at remembering details. The city is like the proverbial memory bank. Each favored space a cue to thoughts, a granary of information-peck peck. And as for the darkness itching under the skin, I let sleeping dogs lie.

Ripe 27 years of age. Not very unkempt. A bit scruffy on the inside. Interested in

Meditation, if there is such a thing.

Yoga, if there is such a thing.

Language fascinates me.

Most habitable environment-libraries and bookstores. Duck to water. Nothing affords such fulfillment.

Have a consuming love for poetry. Trying to read more, learn more and if better writing results so be it. But learning more is what I am at. Self-study. Library and second-hand books-criticism,smattering of philosophy, poetry . Getting better at my craft matters hugely to me. Trouble is, I don't know how to. Progress happens in fits and starts and then without my benediction.

What I’m doing with my life

Woolgathering. Alternatively sitting down at my desk for long hours writing a bit and reading somewhat. I am leading quite the laid back life at present.

I’m really good at

Cooking a breakfast of scrambled (6 egg whites+2 yolks+kidney beans+oats) with just the right dash of garlic, fenugreek seeds and green chilli.

The first things people usually notice about me

My gold stud earring dazzles.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

I read poetry, critical works on poetry, have a fondness for grappling with philosophical works (predominantly linguistic, lately Heidegger on metaphysics), have a penchant for fantasy (China Melville's Perdido Street Station springs to mind), enjoy fiction as well -William Golding. Charles Dickens, Albert Camus, JG Ballard, Ray Bradbury, Herman Melville, George Orwell, Gao Xingjian, Asimov, Orhan pamuk, Peake, Marquez,Stephen King,JG Ballard,Iain M Banks,Tom holland,Umberto Eco-graphic novella-alan moore from hell, watchmen-garth ennis-hitman, preacher-gaiman-Sandman... top of the mind recall.. I know it to be a sad fact of my nature that i will be back to edit this short list). Have started reading Joyce's Ulysses. The end is not in sight there.
Also, contrary to present critical fashion, i hold TS Eliot in high regard and do not diss modernism.

As for movies. Churning out top of the mind recall again:-
The Machinist, The Man from Earth, Memento, Irreversible, Castaway, Sunshine, Hot Fuzz, Un chien andalou, Old Boy,Let the right one in, Hannabi,Twilight Samurai, Pulp Fiction, Taxi Driver &c, &c.

Music
Sometimes citing specific songs, else bands-Depeche Mode, Man in the Box (Alice in Chains), The Well (Omnia) [i_am_kashyaintroduced me to this song], Liquid Man (Theatre of Tragedy),Korn, Godsmack (the album Faceless), Du riechst so gut (Rammstein), Sent to destroy (Combichrist), Ascension- The 40th day after easter (Deinonychus).Staind,Manson (Redeemer), Rob Zombie, Greg Allman (Midnight Rider), Cinderella (Night Songs), Boney M, ABBA

Also a bit of the old masters now and then.

Food

I am not picky in terms of taste but ensure that I eat healthy all the time.

The six things I could never do without

Books
Exercise
A good diet
Long walks
Delusions of grandeur
A place to crash

I spend a lot of time thinking about

The way things are, the way they appear to me. Purity of purpose and integrity in the practice of my interests.Being strong and flexible.

On a typical Friday night I am

Holding on tenderly to a steaming cup of black coffee and reading or writing.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I am a vestal virgin.

You should message me if

Enough already. Just type.
