Been single for too long, kids (15 &17) about to leave home and
I'm ready too! Family is important, but so is love and since my,
amicable, separation, I have miss having someone in my life. I am
kind, creative, intelligent, fun, interested in the arts, live
music, the environment, education, health and well-being.
I'm in a singing group and dabble around with piano/guitar at home, I like all sorts of music - world, acoustic folk, indie, jazz, some country & bluegrass, classics - at home though I often find that radio 4 is my kitchen comfort! I enjoy watching friends play music in pubs/parks/small venues - and get involved with community events (art/music/land). I like a good dance, do various exercise classes, summer cycling, walking on the fells, riversides, rocks and seas.
I want to keep on exploring, living and loving, travelling in an untouristy way - sometimes I yearn for a dog and a camper van and an open road! . I've been living in the north west for 30 odd years, love the land but contemplating a move south, London South, Sussex Coast South....home, I'm open to persuasion, east or west, for romancing ...
I work in education (HE)- disability, advice and well being which I love- though not sure how stable it is in this economic climate. I Like to look at health holistically, keeping fear at bay and mind open in shifting sands. I prefer using fresh, free and unprocessed foods and enjoy experimenting with tastes and cooking, often vegetarian plus...plus organic meats. I will stand up against unfair, unjust policies and the environment, local and global - been in and out of amnesty, greenpeace campaigns.
I enjoy the culture and buzz of a city (Barcelona!)- theatre, dance, music and splashing out on a good time, having a good crack, dipping into a music festival and occasionally staying up till the early hours. Most travels have, been in France/Spain, have lived in Canada for a year, spent one Christmas in Hawaii ! Sometimes though, nothing can beat breathing in the cool mountain air as and landscape as you walk around the shores of Derwentwater, my favourite!
I would love to meet someone and share our lives together, someone who is comfortable in themselves, confident but not arrogant, natural, thoughtful and open minded. Someone who would find equal pleasure in walking barefoot on a moonlit beach as emersing themselves in an art and theatre space. More often though would find enough pleasure by lighting the fire, cooking a good meal and being able to enjoy the company of your soulmate, family and friends.
Someone who's not rigid, who can discuss things, who likes exploring and who would find a comfort in a shared life and love. Someone to go out with and come home to. I know there is someone who will be - my good friend and lover, who will meet me half way and follow the path as it unravels ahead….
