My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Just another girl, but different. You know, of a certain age only sorta younger. I believe that what we do matters and that kindness is a high value. At the same time, I find that gentle sarcasm and humor can cut to the heart of a matter as eloquently as cautious sincerity. I like an edge. Beauty can and does take my breath away. Be it the sweep of sky dashed golden pink or a small human kindness witnessed. I enjoy hiking and sleeping outside. I'm happier with fresh flowers on the table. I like the surprise of city streets, foreign or local but also know the uniqueness of living close in a small community where everyone knows your name. I love my daughters. How could I not?

I am good hearted, unconventional, and engaging
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Currently, sorting out the 10 weeks I spent with a group of people walking across the country for Climate Action. It was an amazing experience, walking the roads of our country, listening to people describe the changes they note; drought and it's impacts, farm land no longer productive, the nightmare of life in the fracking regions of Pennsylvania, Ohio, etc.
It was a privilege to meet people giving all they can to secure a better future in the face of hard odds.
This moves me.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
If it is one of those days, they may notice my socks.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

Geraldine Brooks,'Year of Wonders', 'Nine Parts of Desire'etc, Mary Doria Russell 'A Thread of Grace', and others. 'What is the What'. Books on global AIDS, international health, infectious disease - really. Poetry --William Stafford, Mary Oliver, Sam Hammill. Movies - 'The Lives of Others' lingered long, . Music: Jerry Jeff Walker and I have an almost unabashed affection for sappy songs. Fresh is good - foodwise. I like Indian, Vietnamese, and chocolate. Chinese food was never meant to be orange really.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
water. fresh air. a bouquet of colors. friendship. touch. language. a toothbrush. ..I know, that's 7 but I think think 'six 'is just a guideline..
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
how we ended up here. Optimistic when Obama got elected, those days seem almost naive now.. (How we ended on 'okcupid' is another thing - did ya ever think?)
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
"I'm an empty essay! Fill me out.' ... that was written in the box by the 'okcupid folks... It's not really true but
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Sometimes, my socks don't match. Sometimes, I don't care but other times, I'm stricken.
