My self-summary Propose an edit
A few more words that describe me (three just aren't enough):
Eclectic
Malleable
Pensive
Loyal
Awkward
Geeky
Kind
Logical
Play-Doh
Tamarindo
...and the list goes on.
My friends would probably say that I'm too nice at times, and I'd consider myself
being empathetic to a fault. I sometimes
come across as a pseudo-intellectual, but I'm really not. I do have
a knack for the arts: drawing, painting, singing, playing guitar, and I'm bilingual (English/Spanish). One of my goals is to learn
another language (possibly Italian or French) within the next five years. My
head can sometimes be in the clouds, but I'm more of a
down-to-earth kind of guy. I'd consider myself as less of a dreamer
and more of a doer. As time goes on I think the hopelessly romantic
side of me shrinks just a bit more on account of the "if you don't
use it, you lose it" rule.
I've always been laid back and able to go with the flow, for the
most part, and appreciate people who can do the same. I'm more of a
calculated risk taker, if there is such a thing, but if it's a good
idea I'm up for it. As an adult, I've gotten a chance to be more
appreciative of the outdoors, but I'm just as fond of being a
homebody and taking a lazy day to lounge around the house and
relax. I tend to be the one that friends come to when they need
someone to lend them an ear.
Now, I've always taken pride of being a pretty fast learner or
being able to figure things out (sooner or later), but one thing
that I've never been able to wrap my head around (and more than
likely never will) is the female psyche. What gives?!
I haven't had much leisure time as of late, but I can burn it up
fairly quickly watching TV, on the internet or rocking out to a
quick game of Guitar Hero or Rock Band (among others...). I'm
attempting to read more for pleasure, but failing miserably because
of my lack of free time. Lately, I've taken up jogging, but I'm really looking for
someone with sub-par tennis skills with whom to play.
What I'm doing with my life Propose an edit
Right now I'm working a full time job in the IT Department for
Oklahoma State University along with a part time job as a Sales
Clerk/Account Rep. for the American Coupon Company...and going to
school. Oh, and I'm in the process of moving. Yes, my schedule is a
bit hectic, but so far I've managed to make enough time for
(almost) everything.

The first thing(s) people usually notice about me Propose an edit
I've gotten compliments on my eyes & eyebrows before... so
maybe that? Also, I used to be a stick figure of a guy, but I've
put on some weight over the last couple of years, so that's not as
noticeable anymore.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food Propose an edit
Books: Un Grito Desesperado, Angels and Demons, The DaVinci Code,
Demons Don't Dream, Ficciones, (works in progress: Cien Años de
Soledad, Don Quijote de la Mancha, The Lord of the Rings
trilogy)
Movies: Forrest Gump, Amores Perros, Shawshank Redemption, Shrek,
The Lord of the Rings trilogy, Pan's Labyrinth, Y Tu Mama Tambien,
The Matrix, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Eternal Sunshine of
the Spotless Mind, The Bourne trilogy
TV: The Big Bang Theory, How I Met Your Mother, Chuck, Heroes, My
Name Is Earl, The Office
Music: I grew up with 90's grunge & alt. rock, but since then
I've found something rewarding in just about every other genre of
music, including hip hop, rap, and even some country (my least fave
genre). It really just depends on the mood that I'm in. I also
thoroughly enjoy oldies in Spanish, mostly boleros and rancheras:
Vicente Fernandez, Javier Solis, Pedro Infante, Jorge Negrete,
etc.
Food: Mexican, Italian, Chinese... I'll pretty much eat any type of
cuisine though.
I spend a lot of time thinking about Propose an edit
My future. My family. My future family. What I'll be doing in 5
years... in 10 years... When I'll have time to go back to painting
or practicing guitar. Lately, I haven't really had much time to
think.
On a typical Friday night I am Propose an edit
It could be a number of things:
1) Lounging around
2) Wasting time on the internet
3) Playing some random game
4) Watching a movie or DVR
5) Playing guitar (or Rock Band!!)
6) Hanging out with friends
7) Doing some home improvements (or at least planning on it)
The most private thing I'm willing to admit here Propose an edit
All through high school I was a total nerd (mostly math & science)... and proud of it! Oh, and
that I was a closet videogame geek growing up (I still am,
to a certain extent). I also learned early on that being the
valedictorian of your high school class isn't that great of an
accomplishment if:
A) There were less than 100 people in your graduating class.
And...
2) You graduated from a public high school in southern Oklahoma.

...you feel the need to do so? I am not the boss of you. You can do
what you want!
I suppose I could go with the clichéd "if we share any similar
interests"... but that's not necessarily true. I have a plenty of
friends with whom I'm total opposites, and we get along splendidly.
