My self-summary
** UPDATE 2/9/2014: I am now currently seeing someone and I am going to spend some time investigating this relationship.

I am told that I am the nicest guy and that I am very hard working. I do not quit a task until it is complete.

I get a little passionate about my opinions of civil liberties and my views on individual rights. I think I am just a guy who after 20+ years as a consultant and having been divorced for 3 years is ready to spend a little less time working and more time improving myself, exploring my surroundings, and meeting new and interesting people. Maybe you?
What I’m doing with my life
Still Working. But, now I am ready to back off of the job a little and spend more time working on me, finding new restaurants, interesting places around the area, finally traveling for fun and interest instead of always for work.
I’m really good at
Solving problems and/or at listening. I enjoy cooking anything on a grill, great chili, but mostly breakfast. You really should let me cook breakfast for you.
The first things people usually notice about me
Broad shoulders and my smile. Makes them wonder what I have been up to but think twice about calling me on it.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books I enjoy:
Urban fantasy, crime, and some historical fiction books:
Kelley Armstrong - Otherworld series
Patricia Briggs - Mercy Thompson and Alpha and Omega series
Jim Butcher - The Dresden Files
Glen Cook - The Garrett P.I. series and Black Company series
Jeaniene Frost - Night Huntress series
Laurell K. Hamilton - Anita Blake series
Kim Harrison - The Hollows series
Charlaine Harris - Aurora Teagarden, Harper Connelly,
Sookie Stackhouse series
Robert Jordan - Wheel of Time series
Susan Collins: The Hunger Games series
mystery, thriller: Lee Child - Jack Reacher series, etc...
Science/Physics: All of the Richard P. Feynman Lecture Series
Most of the audible books on Einstein
Stephen Hawking: Brief History of Time, etc...
Michio Kaku: Parallel Worlds, etc...
These are just a few of my favorites.
Just ask, I have about 1,100 books in my Audible library. I travel a lot for work.

Movies - Serenity! The Swedish version of "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" all three, Lisbeth Salander is one of my heroes. action-adventure, comedies(like Big Trouble in Little China, even some romantic ones), a few horror - Aliens, Cabin in the Woods
Music - Some of all of it (maybe not hard core country), Lorde, Pink, Imagine Dragons, Macklemore
Food - all types (except foods with curry)

TV - Except for some sports I only watch things I have recorded on the DVR (no commercials!), like Big Bang Theory, True Blood, Ghost Hunters, Iron Chef, The Rachel Maddow Show, and The Daily Show. I loved Firefly.
The six things I could never do without
My kids (already out of the house)
Friends
iPhone - more for the audio books and music than phone
Rumba ( the vacuum cleaner not the dance )
Tivo (DVR) no commercials
Water - as in swim, ski (liquid and frozen), scuba, lay beside
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Space travel.
Traveling faster than light or at least how to beat the light to a destination.
Multiple universes, string theory, m-theory parallel worlds
But the most difficult two of all...
How to answer the self-summary question and where does the other sock go when I throw a pair in the dryer? Is it possible that black holes are created by Maytag?
On a typical Friday night I am
Love to go out with friends, maybe a happy hour, dinner, or a movie. Though with my work "Friday", the night you go out on the town, does not always happen on Friday.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
My mother always told me, "Admit nothing, deny everything, and demand proof!"

I almost named my oldest son Jeremiah, after Robert Redford's character in "Jeremiah Johnson". Man did he dodge a bullet.

And lastly, yes I cried at the end of the movie "Brian's Song".

I am pretty easy going and would say that I like to talk to almost anyone. Take a chance, I won't bite. Seriously, it is one of the questions and I answered "no". Although, I did go on to explain the difference between biting and nibbling.

Please read my explanations, I have spent some quality time on them. At least a few will make you laugh.
