I'd love to sit down in a park or at home on a rainy day and read
for hours, but I don't. I'm usually out and about doing something
or other. I try to always have something on hang and it may be any
of the following:
Books related to IT, programming, visual arts (in this case I'm
referring to programming static or animated visuals), anything
related to Processing or Linux/UNIX systems, Can't Stop Won't Stop:
A History of the Hip-Hop, Generation, Form + Code: In Design, Art
and Architecture, Noise/Music: A History, various comics or manga
(mostly cyberpunk works or anything by Bryan Lee O'Malley.
Music: last.fm: auroranoise - check it
A few things on heavy rotation:
Autechre, Boards of Canada, Burial, Cabaret Voltaire, Childish
Gambino, Christoph de Babalon, Cocteau Twins, Com Truise, Grimes,
Infinity Shred, Lana Del Rey, Mazzy Star, Melt-Banana, Merzbow,
Moderat/Modeselektor, Slowdive, Two Lone Swordsmen, Vector
TV: Who has TV anymore? For me, TV is background noise at a bar. My
roommate recently got me into Battlestar Galactica though. I'm
behind on episodes and need to catch up with everyone. Anything I
could watch on TV, I've been watching on Netflix, Hulu or by other
Movies: Akira, Blade Runner, Breathless, Enter the Void, Ghost in
the Shell, Moonrise Kingdom, Oldboy, Paprika, Permanent Vacation,
Food: Far too many burritos.
