I grew up in Melbourne with a British mother and a skippy-Australian father, so I inherited a love of British culture, along with certain middle-class values that I find it hard to shake.
I have more imagination than I know what to do with - I come up with a myriad of ideas, which usually far exceeds my capability to put those ideas into practice.
I take an interest in art - not in a serious way, but as a background to everyday life. I appreciate Melbourne's awesome street art, but haven't yet steeled myself to add my own contribution (although I have now obtained a stock of Wellington boots for the purpose).
I love dance (watching or doing) - lately I've been going to the 5Rhythms dance workshops, which are like dancing in your kitchen, but with everyone in the same kitchen (ie. a church hall or on the beach). There's a vague philosophy behind it being a form of 'movement meditation', but it's also just great, healthy fun!
I also enjoy walking or cycling around this beautiful city - I get much of my exercise by seeing how far I go to somewhere interesting. I can never resist an op-shop, garage sale, or even hard rubbish left out on the street - my childhood ambition was to be a Womble.
I've taught myself Spanish over the past decade or so. I love the feel of another language, and how it makes you reflect on your own.
