My self-summary
Gaily bedight,
A gallant night
In sunshine and in shadow,
Had journeyed long,
Singing a song,
In search of El Dorado.

I must not fear. Fear is the mindkiller.

I am Crispy, and I am just your average run of the mill nerd/geek that loves sci fi/fantasy, board/video games, and knows how to sword fight. A guy that is just trying to find his place in the world. I don't read near as much as I should (or like), and the same can be said about writing. I've got so many wonderful story ideas I have started, but yet to finish. Feel free to ask me about them sometime.

I used to do theatre all the time before I moved to Atlanta, back in Murfreesboro, TN, but here my focus was back on improv for awhile. I love being on the stage in all of its forms, and I love making people feel. I do all kinds of things, puppets, combat, Shakespeare, modern drama, and so on. If you are ever curious, just ask. I love me some good theatre stories.

In my free time I help with a few conventions here in the Southeast, most notably is Dragon Con where I shoot the footage for the official dvds.

I find myself often bored around work, where I plug away at a desk all day doing data entry for my company. Therefore, I find myself wandering the web, and so I swing by here, too. Feel free to message me. I do my best to stay entertained, and not bored. You very well may be the cure of that conundrum!

Away from work, the geekiness continues where I am either out geocaching (on-hold until we get a gps that isn't about to die), hanging out with friends over drinks or fun events, or kicking back at home enjoying a good movie or some board/video games when time permits.

Drop me an email if you feel so inclined, but I know based on this alone, you might not.

Allons y!

I am geeky, demented, and sarcastic.
What I’m doing with my life
Wishing I was out there in the acting scene again. Also, I really want to get into puppeteering. I love doing it casually, but would love to cultivate that into something awesome!

Mostly, just working IT for a communications company up here on the perimeter. Nice area, without the stress of downtown Atlanta. Oh I go visit it. It knows I care. But really, in its current state, I am happy where I am.

Also, working on my podcast, whatthecast.com Check us out. We have a great interview with JoCo and Paul and Storm, if you are interested.

Trying to do more traveling. I want to do a lot more of it. This past Halloween I went to see see Neil Gaiman on Halloween at The House on the Rock with my best friend. It was amazing!

I do have one story ready for publishing (I have been told), but it needs an artist. My friend got caught up in school, which is great! It is a children's fairy tale, of sorts, focusing on the origin of wishing. If you want to read it, do let me know.
I’m really good at
Deducing my way out of precarious situations, all whilst filling out silly online profiles... Oh, and wasting time while somehow still being productive, hence why I love my job.
The first things people usually notice about me
Eyes, sometimes red, sometimes dark brown, sometimes white... My kilt? My mohawk when I used to have it, maybe? My height...? I don't know, you tell me. What did you notice? Being a theatre kid, I feel I am a chameleon, so I am never sure. They never tell me what they notice. What did you notice?
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
(a) Top Three: Dune, American Gods, and Farenheit 451. Beyond that: Anything by Gaiman first and foremost for modern authors; Anything by Crichton or Poe; The Harry Potter Series; The Song of Ice and Fire Saga, by George R. R. Martin; The Dark Tower Series; Ender's Game; The Saga of Dune.

(a.1) TV shows throughout the years:
Supernatural; Doctor Who; Torchwood; Battlestar Galactica; Caprica; Mythbusters; Dexter; True Blood; Darkwing Duck; Iron Chef; Chopped; 24; Smallville (back years ago); Heroes (Well, that first season anyways); LOST; Buffy; Angel; Firefly; Dollhouse... yeah I should stop because I could keep going. Also, the advantage of my job at Dragon Con is I get to interview all the famous folks that I watch. So most of these shows, I get to meet and work with the actors that help make it possible. Talk about nerd-enabling. There is a lot of talented and wonderful people out there, and it feels great to work with them.

(b) Here is an assorted collection of the films I have enjoyed, both good and bad, over the years. Be prepared it is a long list. I am a bit of a moviephile and movies are a big passion of mine. Recently: Tron: Legacy; Black Swan; Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World; Inception. Not so recently: Inkheart; Coraline; The Hangover; Moon; Star Trek; The Goods; The Dark Knight; Iron Man; Tropic Thunder; Zack and Miri Make a Porno; The Wrestler; The Fall; Wall-E; Sunshine; Stardust; No Country for Old Men; Shoot ‘Em Up; Superbad; The Prestige]]; [The Fountain; Children of Men; and Pan's Labrynthe. Other good films: Boondock Saints; Phonebooth; Dune (in most of its forms); Donnie Darko (director's cut); Death to Smoochy; 12 Monkeys; Royal Tenenbaums; Legend; Planet of the Apes; The Big Lebowski; Robin Hood: Men in Tights (it is like "The Greatest Hits" of Mel Brooks' jokes); Kill Bill; Big Fish; The City of Lost Children; Amelie; Run Lola Run; Super Troopers; Finding Nemo; Evil Dead (1-3); The Nightmare Before Christmas; The Dark Crystal; True Romance; Never Ending Story; Jurassic Park… Going to stop there. I could keep going, but won't for now. If you made it through that list, please say so! Even if it is to tell me I should probably get another hobby or three!

(c) Oh it varies... Mumford & Sons is the band currently singing the melodies of my soul these days. Daft Punk and The Muse are foremost in my musical heart these days. The Servant; The Protomen (very good friends of mine from high school. Keep your eyes on these guys.); Arctic Monkeys, as well; Tom Petty; Apocalyptica; Shiny Toy Guns; Flogging Molly; Cowboy Mouth; Bad Religion; Coheed and Cambria]]; [Finger Eleven; Blue Oyster Cult; Cake; Utada Hikaru; Rob Zombie; Dethklok for the win; Audioslave; System of a Down; The Cruxshadows; Boo Boo Bunny (Kids love it!); The Cure; Weird Al; Davie Bowie; The Blue Man Group (That was the best live show to which I have EVER been!). Yeah a pretty decent/eclectic mix... Not as much into music, really, as I am into film. I listen to it, sing to it, enjoy it! I need to go through my iTunes and list my faves.

(d) If it is pasta, I'll eat it! Anything else, not too picky either, sure, why the hell not!
The six things I could never do without
Something to keep my mind occupied.

Pen/Paper, or the means with which to write.

A copy of American Gods by Neil Gaiman

A copy of Dune by Frank Herbert

A sense of adventure; it varies in size.

Someone with which to have conversation and aforementioned adventures.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
The world around me, and what I haven't done to better it. Or rather, how can I make a place for myself in it? Literary ideas, big and small. I think a lot about a lot of things. It just depends on when you catch me.
On a typical Friday night I am
Doing something along the lines of this... Staying home, going out, having the occasional drink, watching movies. Not always sure until it is here, but I promise you its pretty damned geeky. Regardless, Friday is just like any other night of the week. I do things. I promise.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
There are too many, but I am an open book. Ask any question. Seriously. I promise some answer.
I’m looking for
  • Girls who like guys
  • Ages 18–35
  • Near me
  • For new friends, activity partners, long-distance penpals
You should message me if
You found any of this drabble exciting, or boring, in any way! Maybe you just want to say hello, or tell me I should do something else with my free time. It is a free world, and you should message me if you feel like it, basically! Hell, just say hi sometime if you get bored, too. I am just out to make new friends! Anything beyond that is not expected or planned.

If not, doesn't matter. This has all been an experiment in boredom and adventure!

Take pains. Be perfect. Adieu.
