My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Hi, I am Amy and this is my attempt to summarize myself. I am doing so by lists, bc it is easier. This is the self-summary cheat-cheat.
Here goes:
I am: a social worker, an idealist, a nerd, a Scorpio, a lover but a fighter when I have to be, a cuddler, a socialist, an animal lover, a poet, an advocate.
I like: movies, poetry, dogs, children, spending time with my family and friends, affection, mountains, ocean, children, helping people, philosophy, music, cooking and eating good, nutritious food, good conversation, baseball, nature, photography, creating, summer
Qualities in people I like are: compassionate, caring, funny, intelligent, aware, kind, ambititous, honest.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm currently a social worker, working with the elderly who are low income. My day consists of navigating the social service system, running activities (other than Bingo, thankfully), having good conversations and a whole bunch of random things my clients need help with. It's a good job and I'm very grateful.

one of my professors suggested we all write individual mission statements for our lives, basically what we want to accomplish and how we are going to do it. mine was to improve the quality of life for all my clients by treating them in a way that reinfources their own self worth. you should make one = )

I also like poetry, mediatation, and am looking for ways to counter my social work career with activism because the two go hand and hand. I've done volunter work with multiple organizations that focus on heping individuals with disabilities. I think spending real qualatity time with people is important and making sure that the people you care about know you love them is very important and some times overlooked. So I try to make sure to always do this. I enjoy living in Cambridge and all it has to offer.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
making people laugh, taking care of other people, writing, being present.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
probably that i'm short; since i cut my hair, probably that I look pretty gay (yay!!!), then maybe my green eyes. (sappy, i know)

The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
1) my close friends and family, 2) affection 3) my cat and dog 4) computer/Iphone 5) a comfortable place to sleep (it makes me sad so many ppl don't have this) 6) books/ideas/conversations to keep me wondering, thinking, creating

i do realize that two of the above do not qualify as things but they are more than essential to me.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
what i can do to make other people's lives a little easier, baseball, career-related stuff, nature, random lines of poems that pop into my head, how to solve social problems
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
getting dinner with a friend or lounging at my sister's house, ideally playing Catan. I prefer good conversation or a good movie or trip to museum over partying/clubbing.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
ummm.... well... ummm... tell ya later...
