My mom was a radical French intellectual with overtly communist leanings living in the Marais. My dad comes from a long line of blue-blooded Boston brahmin. Somehow, inconceivably, they met and I was conceived. I was born in Brooklyn and brought up under the very long shadows of Harvard University. I have never driven a car. I am very much an urban youth. I played a lot of competitive basketball growing up. My outside jumpshoot was a thing of beauty. I went to an extremely intense high-school, full of people who now seem to run the world, and then to an equally intense small liberal arts school, followed immediately by graduate school to complete a doctorate in economics. Foolishly perhaps, I still very much believe that I can change the world and have the very great privilege of showing up to work each day surrounded by energetic people who very much believe the same. I am progressive, easy-going, and ambitious. I have an active fantasy life and enjoy very specific kinds of science fiction. I write and think and litigate and perhaps talk a bit too much. I like to laugh and experience new things and want to cram as much as possible into what strikes me as an altogether too short period of time on this planet. Finally, and most importantly given the present context, I think I am a very good boyfriend (/lover - too much?), but, then again, I am completely biased.

I am a world-class cuddler and a master of ballroom dancing. Unfortunately only one of these statements is true.

My willingness to throw down at the slightest provocation. Or would it be my swan-like grace. Neither of these statements is true, of course. Really, I have no idea. It has never occured to me to ask anyone what they first noticed about me. I doubt the answer would be all that enlightening. My height? My glasses? That ever-present mischievious glint in my eye? I suppose we will just have to meet and you can tell me.

It would take too long to pen a satisfactory answer. Suffice it to say that my preferences are broad-ranging.

That the cardinality of set of most private things that I am willing to admit is far exceeded by the cardinality of set of most private things that I am NOT willing to admit. Youthful indiscretions right?
