My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm a quiet person who gets louder the more I get to know someone. I have too many books for my bookshelves and too much tea for my cabinets. I love British comedians, weird science, fancy beer, and unusual flavors of ice cream.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm an editor, which is pretty great because I get to spend all day fixing words. I like words. I like making them better.

I used to write a lot and I'd like to start doing that again, but, well, it's a work in progress.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Words. Writing and grammar and fixing people's spelling. Artsy and craftsy shit. I've knitted my own sweaters and socks, and sometimes I paint. I am vaguely savant-like at knowing facts about '90s TV shows. I know a lot of random trivia, actually. I'm good to have on your pub quiz team.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I am told I have a nice smile and accessorize like a motherfucker.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books: anything by Terry Pratchett, Mike Carey, or Christopher Brookmyre. Various random entrants in the urban fantasy genre, of which the Dresden Files was my first love. Popular science.

Movies: comic-book movies, dodgy-as-fuck sci-fi movies, dumb action movies. Smart sci-fi and action movies too. If people get punched or things get blown up, I'm in.

Shows: I really like talking about Farscape. It's a really good show. Also, the show that quote is from. (And Doctor Who, Firefly, Justified, The Thick of It, Sherlock, Black Books, The Hour... if it's British or sci-fi, I've probably seen it at least once.) (I know Justified is neither of those things. Sometimes I branch out.)

Music: Sleater-Kinney, Murder by Death, Rasputina, and anything in between. You know, punk, riot grrrl, cello punk, industrial, southern gothic folksy hillbilly punk....

Food: Thai, Ethiopian, Indian, Mexican... is it spicy? Feed it to me. Also, cupcakes.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
-Whatever book I'm reading.
-Whatever thing I'm knitting.
-Whatever show I'm watching.
-My laptop.
-My friends.
-Personal space.
(Though honestly, I COULD do without those things, it would just make me sad. But a list that's just, like, "air, food, water" wouldn't be very interesting.)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Science fiction, the semicolon, the magnificence of penguins, and what my next tattoo should be.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Either watching TV and knitting or out drinking beer and playing Cards Against Humanity. Or some combination of those things.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm bendy when I'm drunk and I'm accessible like a pronoun. Or so I'm told.

Fair warning: I'm kinda shy and awkward at first and not always the best at, like, making words go. I have trouble starting conversations, but once they get going, I have, you know. Thoughts! Opinions! Tangential anecdotes! And things.
