"You know love is better than a song. Love is where all of us belong." -Cat

Hi. I'm excited to be back on this site in a new town! In April I moved from New York City – where I lived for 12 fruitful years – to work on an organic farm outside of Ruch. Now I'm moving to Ashland to meet more people and to see if this is where I may want to put down new roots. I am a self-aware, intelligent, loving man with a dedicated meditation practice that centers on working with my heart. I would like to say that I am here to seek new adventures and journeys. And yet as much as I savor the new experiences that life continuously brings, at this stage I'm looking most of all for my life partner and soulmate – someone to grow with, share with, fight with, make love with, and with whom to make a beautiful, loving home. How about you?
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I left New York City for many reasons, but at root I wanted to venture outside of my comfort zone to continue to challenge myself to grow and to relinquish personal control. Easier said than done! I am calling this time a sabbatical in that I closed my private practice in New York, although I continue to work with a handful of committed long-term patients by phone. I have many goals for this time, including working on an organic farm, which I have just finished doing. Now I have begun work on a book about emotional transformation.

As much as things have changed with my move, many of my commitments remain the same. I am always practicing spiritually, emotionally, and interpersonally. I am creating – especially music and food. I am delighting in the luxury of time – which I value more than money, productivity, or possessions. And whatever I encounter, I am doing my best to receive it with an open heart.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
In person, my presence. People who meet me for the first time tend to tell me that I seem at peace. This is not always how I feel inside - sometimes quite the opposite – but I certainly spend more time in such a state than I used to, for which I am grateful.

If you go by responses to my old NYC profile, that I seem interesting. Is that a compliment?

Music, music, music – most of all when it's coming through my fingers and voice. In general, I find that I prefer things that I can do myself and with other people rather than watching someone else perform. That being said, I derive much inspiration from chant (see spiritvoyage.com for some of my favorites). I also have a nearly lifelong love for singer-songwriting. Tasty ethnic food is also a passion. Besides my dear friends, I am missing my favorite Ethiopian in New York. I was an avid reader as a child, and I still very much appreciate the written word. I am more selective as an adult, though, because of some neuromuscular visual issues. Concerning movies and plays, I can be taken by something full of heart and intelligence like Silver Linings Playbook.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
The spiritual path. The environment & global warming and what I can do about it. My patients, some of whom feel like my children. My teacher who died two years ago. Psychoanalysis - not theoretically but practically. How to be more true. My beschert.

As a dedicated meditator of over ten years, I am a huge fan of mental and physical de-cluttering. In this spirit, I have never owned a TV, do not Facebook, Tweet, etc., and have been keeping a headline news fast for years - unless you count Wait Wait Don't Tell Me. My friends think they need to warn me of impending natural disasters but they needn't.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Hmmm nothing typical about Friday nights. What I'd like to be doing is kissing and cuddling though.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
There is much I would like to share here if I knew you a little better. What I will say up front is that I am extremely open to feedback, having worked with myself intensively for so many years. I still have some rough edges that can come out if the connection between us feels unsteady. I would ask that if I say or do something that strikes you the wrong way, but you otherwise feel me, then please take a chance and let me know.

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You have a clear intention to find your life partner and a willingness to take the time to get to know him. You are comfortable with strong emotions and see conflict as an opportunity for personal growth and deepening intimacy. You are happy with yourself and your life and think it would be even better with a true, loving partnership.

May we find our hearts' desire.
