My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
- I just started what I hope to be a fantastic long term relationship as of early December 2014 and I don't know how to suspend my profile. I've had a few communications with interesting women here and don't want to just cut it off abruptly anyway -

If we were perfect, we wouldn't be.

I am slightly shy with a big sense of humour. I sometimes give off a nervous intense vibe but it's just because I'm drawn that way. I'm not into status or power or fashion statements. I'm into being physically fit and nutritionally healthy, but not in any crazy over the top way that rules my every waking moment. I cherish the wisdom of Richard Dawkins, Christopher Hitchens, James Randi, Isaac Asimov, Richard Feynman, Dan Savage, George Carlin, Sarah Silverman and Bill Hicks. I was married until 2009, and helped raise a wonderful stepdaughter from Kindergarten to University and beyond. I'm not looking to start another family, although I can be accepting of kids if you have any (at any age).

In one of my favourite TV shows of all time, Albert from Twin Peaks says:
"While I will admit to a certain cynicism, the fact is that I am a naysayer and hatchetman in the fight against violence. I pride myself in taking a punch and I'll gladly take another because I choose to live my life in the company of Gandhi and King. My concerns are global. I reject absolutely revenge, aggression, and retaliation. The foundation of such a method... is love."

My personality might be partially summed up by South Park: a strong moral compass with a dark and twisted sense of humour.

I use up a lot of energy trying to act "normal" sometimes. But then I get weak and the real me is exposed. If you're the type who cherishes the quirks, then we'll get along swimmingly. I'm not one to care much about what society at large thinks about me, but care very much about what my partner/lover thinks about me.

I used to be a bike courier in the late 80's and still ride my bike a lot. I'm a nerd/jock hybrid, but watching sports would make me bored to aneurism.

Argon walks into a bar and the bartender says "Hey, get the hell out of here!". Argon doesn't react.
[this was even funnier after I looked up argon on Wikipedia]

Silliness is next to Dogliness.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Producing/mixing music. Playing drums part-time in a band. Teaching audio classes at Centennial College, skateboarding, yoga, ecstatic dancing and contact improv.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Being reliable, loyal and honest, cooking a few choice vegetarian/seafood dishes, music production, techie stuff, adapting, pleasure.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Eat something. You're too skinny. [Hypoglycemia... I eat tons but don't gain weight]
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

I thought about deleting this whole section because it speaks to my surface only.

I don't watch tons of TV, but there have been the odd gems over the decades: Nurse Jackie, Daily Show, Colbert Report, Dexter, True Blood, Six Feet Under, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Twin Peaks, Battlestar Galactica (2003 version), The Office, Monty Python, SCTV, Kids In The Hall, Mr. Show, Chapelle's Show,

Directors: Lynch, Cronenberg, Aranofsky, Kubrick, Nolan, Tarantino, Frankenheimer,
Films: the most recent one that blew me away is Mr. Nobody.

Food: Japanese, Indian, Thai, Ethiopian....

Music: I used to list "my favourite bands" but my tastes vary all over the place now. So if I say The Residents, Kraftwerk, Devo, Joy Division, Butthole Surfers, Johnny Cash, The Clash, The Stranglers, Beastie Boys.. it doesn't speak to my inner soul as much as it used to. Einstein On The Beach (saw the opera in May 2012.. wow!!!)

I also really love the TED talks.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
food, water, air, gravity, time, space.

But if I could pick more it would be physical/spiritual intimacy, artistic pursuits, exercise and proper sleep.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
the things I couldn't do without (but not so much the top 6, because they're in abundance right now).
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
at The Move (kind of a freeform dance/contact event at a Dovercourt House - it's more physical than it is social)
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!

You're looking for somebody with passionate physicality who is an all around neat, quirky, smart and somewhat unconventional guy.
