My self-summary
I'm here for people. Do you know any people? They're great. Perhaps you've heard of the resolve of the British people during WW II.

I live in Porter and I like it. My room is a terrible color so I've decided to go out more.

I guess I'm like a, joke-y leftist monkish person who cares a lot?
What I’m doing with my life
Following my tense departure from Kraftwerk, I became a painter.
My paintings live at

I'm taking some classes at Harvard Extension (Ethics of War is the one I'm likely to talk about) and working at a cafe where I was hopefully nice to you.

I've also worked in a really dysfunctional daycare and Queers for Economic Justice.
I’m really good at
Chit-chattin', paintin', thinkin', putting things in historical context, laundry, living in sparse spaces, err...that's pretty much it.
The first things people usually notice about me
I clearly don't pay much attention to my hair.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
DeLillo, Pynchon, Barthelme(s), Updike, John Cheever, Carver, Muriel Spark, Gracq, O'Conner, (Lydia) Davis, Stendahl, Balzac, Nabokov, Maugham, Barthes, Hannah, DFW, assorted Post-Keynesians (These are all boring white folk of a very narrow type, but maybe I get points for there being some ladies?)

Fanny and Alexander, [Zulawski's] Possession, Lancelot du Lac, Ikiru, The Last Picture Show, The Passion of Anna, Dogtooth, Nashville!, Three Women, The Decalogue, Barton Fink, The Discreet Charms of the Bourgeoisie, Last Year at Marienbad, Ali: Fear Eats the Soul (No one has made the porn version, Ali: Fear Eats the Pole), Putty Hill, The Sacrifice

Television, Swans, Scott Walker, Liars, This Heat, Talking Heads, The Millenium, Joni Mitchell, Roxy Music, The Feelies, Wreckless Eric, Wire, The New York Dolls, Brian Eno's rock stuff, The Modern Lovers, The Rolling Stones, The Avalanches, The Soft Boys, Van Morrison, The Television Personalities, Gang of Four, Love, Van Dyke Parks, Leonard Cohen, The Books, PFM, Nick Lowe, Robert Wyatt, John Cale, Kevin Ayers, Smog

Parks and Recreation, Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman, Community, As Time Goes By, 30 Rock, The Larry Sanders Show

stilton, brussel sprouts, basil, ginger chews, coq au vin

Philip Guston, Dana Schutz, Ellesworth Kelly, Henri Matisse, Pierre Bonnard
The six things I could never do without
My umbrella stand, Ingmar Bergman having lived, parks, stupid hope, I need new clothes, I need somewhere to stay, but without all of these things I can do-oo-oo, but without your love, I won't make it through.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Do Neo-Nazis like Devo, people, good lines, economic ramifications of things, sex, What's this canvas's deal?, and sometimes my head's completely empty, usually when watching TV.

The woman's voice at the end of For Your Pleasure? THAT WAS JUDI DENCH.
On a typical Friday night I am
I usually end up working, as I think most places that're good at night are better weeknights. Restaurants, museums and movie theaters are also allowed. Friday's a good painting day.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I love and treasure what could be uncharitably called "social obligation." I believe in birthdays and listening and bringing soup to sick friends and long long movies as intrinsic goods. If that terrifies you, we're probably not going to get along.

Also, my entire body is covered with benign tumors the size, shape, texture, taste, weight, and color of tennis balls. Inside, they're just tangerines.
