HI guys. Kevin here. I'm not sure if I should try to make this short and sweet or if I should indulge my inner wanna be novelist...OK, let's go for short.

I am originally from the Bay Area and have always lived in Northern California other than spending a few years in Europe and South America. I'm pretty easy going and am hoping to expand my friend base and maybe even meet a special guy. I'm trying not to have too many expectations (is that hard for everyone or just me?) and just see what happens. I'm not really looking for hook ups though life sometimes brings surprises. I have quite a few friends who don't live in SF and who I am in touch with through email and Skype, so I'm hoping to meet guys on here that are in SF or the Bay Area and who are interested in actually meeting in real life and not just messaging back and forth. What we do is very negotiable, though I guess I should say upfront that I'm not really much into the bar/club scene.

Bachelor number one is an ESL teacher at a local community college and counts tennis, cooking, traveling, studying languages, singer-songwriter type music and surreptitiously looking at cute guys as some of his hobbies. Say hello to bachelor number one...

Making ice cream, hitting backhands, budget traveling, my job, avoiding conflict (working on that :) ), hosting couchsurfers, listening (or at least looking like I am, thanks for that one Jill :) )

I'm just glad this wasn't titled "I really suck at" because I would have needed way more space.

Hmm, how could we possibly know the answer to this question? I can maybe say what I think people might notice (people sometimes say I have nice eyes) but we meet so many people who we never get to know well enough to ask them this question, right? OK, I've just way overanalyzed this. Anyway, I guess I say my eyes.

Cloud Atlas. Such an amazing book by such an amazing author. I actually love all of David Mitchell's books, but this one is just amazing.

Patty Griffin. She sings, I lose it :)

I love reading science fiction, fiction, and non fiction as well (linguistics, evolutionary biology, food stuff). Ursula K Le Guin, TC Boyle, Ian McDonald, David Leavitt, Ray Bradbury, Nick Hornby, Stefano Benni, and Eduardo Galeano are all amazing.

My musical tastes are pretty limited, I'm sorry to say, but what I like I really really like, if that makes up for my lack of breadth. Amos Lee, the Indigo Girls, Counting Crows, Jill Sobule, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Lucinda Williams, Tom Petty, Stevie Nicks/Lindsey Buckingham/Fleetwood Mac, Teddy Thompson, the Waifs, Kathleen Edwards, Dolly Parton, Tori Amos, Del Amitri all get heavy rotation at KVIN :)

I don't really watch TV, except for tennis. And 60 Minutes, sometimes.

I pretty much love all kinds of food. I guess my faves are Italian, Thai, Turkish, Burmese, and Indian. Burma Superstar, anyone? I'm vegetarian but don't really care if you are.

I don't really have a typical Friday night. I might be at Off the Grid, or meeting friends for dinner after the gym, or just chilling at home.
