I am Creative, Caring, and Funny.
My Self-Summary
Moved to DC a few months ago and am looking forward to settling
into a new life here. I'm a Costume Designer & Technician and
since earning by BFA I've been working in Theatre/Opera/Film &
Television (mainly Opera) all across the US. I've moved around
quite a bit and am thrilled to have the opportunity to stay in the
same place for more than a year!
Interests include, but are not limited to...fine arts, music,
movies, history, museums, archaeology, fashion, photography, the
beach, ghost hunting (lots of stories from my hometown...creepy),
ufo stories, folklore, whiskey-sours, culture, Golden Girls
enthusiast, and my heritage, btw...part of me hates simply being
reffered to as white, not that it really matters, but...just
because you can't see us when it snows does not make us all alike.
Incidently, I'm half Sicilian, half Scottish/French.
What I’m doing with my life
Pursuing a passionate career in Costume Design...I can take any
show from script to opening night, and enjoy being a part of a
production team who brings characters to life. I also have a
background in fine arts. Aside from design, I'm also skilled in
pattern drafting, draping, and costume construction.
I will one day work with Colleen Atwood!
If I wasn't doing this I would've probably been...an Archaeologist,
History Professor, or Paranormal Investigator, hahaha...definitley
would not opt to be a Gynecologist. I'm not a fan of
lady-businness.
I’m really good at
Drawing, painting, sewing, & making others look fabulous! I'm
also a good listener. Although I have a high standard that I place
on myself, I almost never judge. I'm good for laughs and appreciate
humor even in dark times.
The first things people usually notice about me
I'm fat & sassy! But, I've been told I have pretty eyes.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Books: Blood & Gold, Frankenstein, Embraced by the Light, The
Mists of Avalon (I know, but it was good), David Sedaris, Chelsea
Handler, The Book of Werewolves (ok, this was not some cheesy teen
angst thing...this was a historical, medical, folkloric, scientific
account of lycanthropy throughout history).
Movies: Interview with the Vampire, The Color Purple, Muriel's
Wedding, Napoleon Dynamite, Underworld series, Indiana Jones
series, Troop Beverly Hills, costume dramas, Bridget Jones, Girls
will be Girls, Batman Returns & other Tim Burton films...also
anything with Cate Blanchett and/or Meryl Streep.
Music: Anything except Country.
Food: Anything including Country. Also, if anyone loves Italian, I
make a mean meat sauce (no pun, I swear).
The six things I could never do without
mmm...
Family, Friends, Love, Cell Phone, Sewing Machine, and Humor (it is
my saviour).
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Well, lately this includes...future productions/projects, history,
psychology, God, and my future...ok, and sequins.
On a typical Friday night I am
At tech rehearsals, but I just started a new job that seems to
promise more time to be devoted to a life outside of work. A
teacher of mine always said..."Art imitates life, so have
one!"
I like going out for drinks, movies, restaurants, shopping, etc.
I'm pretty easy going and up for most things.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
I suppose I'd be willing to admit my privates...but not right
now...later.
You should message me if
You are a quick witted, easy going, fun loving, in it to win it
kind of guy!
