My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I am a bit of a contradiction.

I manage a tech department at my university which would seem to be very isolating and anti-social but I love my job mostly for the people I work with and the good-natured portion of my customers.

I like the thrill of playing music or dancing the night away in a crowd, but I also crave nature and being in isolation from anything electronic. You're just as likely to find me chilling in a hammock. I live lakeside 3 acres of mini-woods paradise but I still hear the football games from my backyard so it's the best of both worlds.

While I love to pursue my own interests and be my own person, I prefer to share experiences with someone else. Conversation and connection are key. I prefer relationships that inspire me to be a better person.

I love to listen to new music and check out new venues, but I don't judge my music based on how few people have never heard of this DJ or that band and immediately give up on them once they become popular.

I am a burner, a music-lover, an outdoorsy nature-lover a scientist. I spent a good bit of town down in Sarasota at New College and then spent a year in the England in Liverpool studying to become a recording engineer. I just completed my degree at UF and while I love my job, it's time to contemplate my next move.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I work full-time at UF and just finished my undergrad degree in Wildlife Ecology / Fisheries. After this Fall I wait to see where life takes me.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
telling it like it is
succeeding under pressure (i.e. procrastinating)
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
1.Eyes, but only if I'm wearing a blue shirt to match
2. I come off as quiet, but actually I talk a lot once you get me going
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

Wish I had more time to read, but I can't really give a list of good books because my free reading time tends to get drowned out by school. Last good book I read was guns germs and steel.

Shows include House, Dexter, Game of Thrones, The Newsroom, Boardwalk Empire, House of Lies, Sherlock to name a few.

Too many musical preferences to list. I usually DJ EDM, mainly psytrance, electro and (good) dubstep. My listening tastes are pretty wide from classical to bluegrass and jazz. I enjoy going out to clubs but realize they are perpetually superficial and absurd, and even good gainesville DJs only sound decent after a few drinks..

Favorite bands would include: CAKE, Banzai Republic, Allison Krauss, David Byrne, Shpongle, Sesto Sento, Younger Brother, Phillip Glass, Holst, Sean Hayes, Macklemore, K-OS, Pepper, Portishead, Radiohead, Outkast, Prince to name a few.

I love to cook but hate to cook for myself. I recently have been trying to cut out things whose ingredients I can't recognize, but this doesn't always work. Currently trying to master the crock pot and slow cooking and going to get in the habit of making sushi again. As with music I will try any dish once.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
(not necessarily in order)
1. A comfortable chair
2. Good company
3. Green space (lived in Liverpool, UK for a year, no trees...)
4. Music
5. Olive oil
6. an option for a sixth thing
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
work, school, existence, meaning of life, beauty of nature, absurdity of pop culture and the absurdity of striving for a normality that does not exist.

Also what I'm doing this weekend and what I should try cooking next.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
out on the town or maybe out of town. depends as the best Friday nights are the ones that are atypical.
