Non-hipsters think I'm a hipster, but really I just like Threadless t-shirts and irony.

Listing things I like is not the same thing as describing myself, but it's easier. I like: reading, movies, music, shopping, cooking, travel, taking classes, pottery, sushi, art, museums, furry animals, TV on DVD, video games, writing, Caturday, bowling, tap dancing, knitting, and so on.

I'm skeptical, curious, intelligent, creative, anxious, liberal, agnostic, organized, responsible, and introverted. Others have described me as "a cool customer" who "doesn't take crap from anyone." I don't want kids, which I gather is somewhat unusual, but it's true, so please don't contact me if you either want kids or have them already.

Some of my favorite bands are: Fleet Foxes, the Dodos, Avett Brothers, Mint Royale, Cut Copy, Girl Talk, Hercules and Love Affair, Neko Case, Andrew Bird, DCFC, Panda Bear, Fiery Furnaces, Arcade Fire, Dan Deacon, Unicorns, Islands, New Pornographers, Wolf Parade, Architecture in Helsinki, Decemberists, Jenny Lewis/Rilo Kiley, Camera Obscura, CYHSY, Go! Team. Some of my favorite books are: the His Dark Materials trilogy, the Song of Ice and Fire series, Cryptonomicon, Pride and Prejudice, The Time Traveler's Wife, Naked, The Mezzanine, Jewels: A Secret History, Jane Eyre, Popco, House of Leaves, High Fidelity. Some of my favorite TV shows are: Dexter, Deadwood, The Tudors, Buffy, Veronica Mars, MI-5, Hustle, The 4400, Numb3rs, Firefly, the PBS House series, the new BSG, both versions of The Office, Venture Bros., The Shield, Freaks & Geeks. It's not important that we like the exact same things, but it IS important that you like books, music, and movies - and discussing them.

Video games (DS): Puzzle Quest, NY Times Crossword, Phoenix Wright, Cooking Mama 1 & 2, Animal Crossing, Elite Beat Agents, Gee-tar Hero On Tour, Hamsterz Life. Yeah, I said it. HAMSTERZ.

Video games (Wii): Gee-tar Hero III, Rayman Ravin' Rabbids, Animal Crossing as soon as they release it.

Oh, and I like Japanese, Chinese, Vietnamese, Indian, Thai, Moroccan, Greek, Ethiopian, and most other kinds of food. Love the sushi. I'm not big on Mexican or Italian, but most people are, and I've made my peace with that.

I recently became addicted to AmazonFresh, but even more recently suffered hippie guilt over all those wasted bags, so now I walk to the store, feeling sweaty but virtuous.
