My self-summary
So I just moved to Portland a few months ago so still settling in, so some of this will be about my past life in Sacramento.

What can I say? I'm just one of hundreds of sons of Nigerian princes looking for people to help with some investments in America. I was the informal head of a bookclub called "The Shit Faced Bookclub," emphasis on the shit faced, and unfortunately not so much the books part. If you think that Lars Von Trier is one of, if not the best, director currently working we'll probably get along fabulously. I identify as a feminist quite a bit. I used to volunteer at a sexual assault/domestic violence clinic in Sacramento, I am a firm believer in volunteering, not sure in which field I will here though. I can have a pretty biting sense of humor, but it's softened by a sharp wit. I have a degree in Humanities with an emphasis on Religious Studies with a minor in Latin, it's very useful as you can imagine, but then again I know the meaning of life. I'm a bit of a hater when it comes to materialism, conservatives, pushy religious people, and general douchebaggery. I haven't had a car in a couple years, I do just fine on my bike and am super excited to be living in a more bike friendly city now.
What I’m doing with my life
Cooking
Bike riding
Reading
Volunteering, haven't figured out where yet since parting ways with the gay marriage campaign here though.
Watching movies
I’m really good at
Working with my hands (I used to be a carpenter)
Sometimes cooking
Being really, really, ridiculously........gulliable
Giving massages
Being the smartest, and dumbest, person in the room, at the exact same motherfuckin time, boyaow
The first things people usually notice about me
Probably the beard, or my height, or tattoos if I'm wearing shorts.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Oh boy, I could go on for days.

Books: I grew up in a family that didn't have a TV for the longest time, and on Sunday's we'd follow up church with a family visit to the library; I'm eternally grateful for this (except the church part, that really blew ass). Whether it's fiction, non fiction, classics, Greek plays, graphic novels/comics, investigative journalism. Steinbeck is the best author ever and would be the coolest guy to have a beer and shoot the shit with. To Kill A Mockingbird is possibly the best book ever written though. Hemingway was just a drunk with daddy issues.

Movies: GOOD ONES! Drama, horror, comedy, indie, foreign, documentaries. I generally stay away from big Hollywood blockbusters; and Netflix once recommended the category dark cerebral foreign thrillers to me.

Shows: The League, Sons of Anarchy, The Wire, Arrested Development, Game of Thrones, Archer, True Detective, Breaking Bad and The X-Files. Laugh tracks make me sick to my stomach, so despite all the recommendations friends have made for How I Met Your Mother.....can't do it. Oh and Seinfeld was overrated, yep, I said it.

Music: GOOD MUSIC! Everything from soft indie, a little classical, to hardcore and black metal. I've decided my two favorite albums are by Explosions in the Sky and Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds. If music is a spiritual experience trance and black metal are the yin and yang. So I'm all over the place when it comes to music.

Food: Hell yeah, I eat that shit, Mexican being the favorite.

What about magazines? The Atlantic is awesome.

What about podcasts? You Look Nice Today is hilarious. The Moth makes me laugh, cry, and everything in between. I've committed 100+ hours to Uhh Yeah Dude.
The six things I could never do without
My bike
Cooking utensils
Books
Movies
Music
Friends
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Feminism, racism, politics, self reflection, how much I would love to have five minutes in a room alone with a significant number of Republicans/Tea Partiers and a baseball bat.

What the body type "used up" means on here.

Should I tell my roommate he's not a 16 year old boy so he shouldn't be using Axe body spray? Would buying him some cologne be too obvious?
On a typical Friday night I am
Saving the world, hitchhiking in Costa Rica, backpacking through Nicaragua, you know, the usual. Or I'm pretty much like everyone else who doesn't have to work on Fridays and I'm hanging out with friends or just chilling at home.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I played Magic: The Gathering, as an adult, pretty competitively, hoping to become a professional player eventually. That didn't work out, and I don't play it anymore, but I do enjoy watching videos of big tournaments still; and am firmly convinced it's probably the greatest game ever made.
I’m looking for
  • Girls who like guys
  • Ages 25–36
  • Near me
  • For new friends
You should message me if
You should probably message me first, I'm kind of over this.

I'm mostly just looking for new friends, if something romantic comes of it, that's cool.

I probably could have saved a lot of time and effort and just posted this song to sum me up: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U5rLz5AZBIA&feature=kp
