My self-summary
I'm a "glass-half-full" optimist who is active and easy-going. My philosophy is, "Do what brings you joy." I'm a self-sufficient person who's lived by myself for the last 10 years. And my life is good. So good, in fact, that I'd like to find someone to share it.

When you check out my okCupid Photos be sure to scroll down through my Profile Photos because I've included lots of pictures showing some of my hobbies and interests. I've also included other albums to help give you a sense of what I like to do.
What I’m doing with my life
Retirement feels like being on perpetual summer vacation. I love it! Regular workouts help keep me in shape while my hobbies and creative projects keep my mind engaged and sharp.
I’m really good at
Planning and traveling. I'm also very good with computers. And I'm an artist, too.
The first things people usually notice about me
My height. A few people have told me I remind them of Geoffrey Rush or Steve Winwood.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
After I retired I watched a lot of movies and TV. But recently I reached a saturation point. I've cancelled my Netflix subscription and stopped watching TV.

I've rekindled my love affair with my library card and reading is what I'm doing with my free time now.

My favorite food is "good" food. By that I mean food that's delicious and healthy -- of any cuisine. I love high tea. But not sushi. Which means "more for you" if sushi is "your thing."

I like all kinds of music. My favorite songs are ones that make me want to dance.
The six things I could never do without
Massages (You don't need to give them. I have an excellent masseuse.), good haircuts, nice clothes, fun trips, the beauty of nature, and of course -- chocolate.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
What I want to be doing next with my life. For example, I just signed-up to work as a volunteer at the Frist Center for the Visual Arts (you can Google it).
On a typical Friday night I am
I'm out dancing with friends.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
In the "I'm looking for" section (below) I selected "For new friends, long-term dating." If I met the right person, I'd be open for anything.
I’m looking for
  • Girls who like guys
  • Ages 55–70
  • Near me
  • Who are single
  • For new friends, long-term dating
