My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I’m a molder of minds, shaper of behavior, some might even call me an overlord….otherwise known as a teacher. I can also be found riding my bike around this fabulous city I love…spending happy hour and brunch with any one or few of my super lovely community of friends…hiking a trail or out on a river paddling. Yep, I’m a Portlandy kinda gal doing Oregony kinda things.

If I didn’t work long hours I’d have two dogs. It’s the unconditional love… there’s nothing like the extreme full body wag when I merely ran out to grab the mail and returned in less than a minute. Don’t worry, I don’t expect that from you, but I am looking for that fringe benefit of being missed when I’m not around. I’ll miss you…not when you run out to get the mail…that would be creepy, but I’ll be looking forward to your return.

I'm a catch. I’ll root for you and be curious. I seek reciprocity and curiosity in my fella. Let’s be on each other’s side, get to know one another and hit a Timbers match to root for them together too. I just want a great companion who enhances the great life I already have.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I’m crafty, but not like the beastie boys song implies. I actually like to sew and knit. I really wish I was a downhill ski master. I tried to learn to surf during my two years living as a broad abroad in Indonesia, but truth be told, I’m more the occasional cross country skier and snorkeling in shallow water type. I’m more for function than adrenalin, but I’m not opposed to the former. I’m an adventurer with a dash of practical.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
If you’ve had a bad day or your mood is kinda crappy, I’m the type to do something that makes you laugh or at least tilt your head to the side and exhale with gusto and a grin. I’m not beyond writing a sweet note and actually licking a stamp to get it to you… delayed gratification baby.

I make a mean breakfast and a fantastic bowl of popcorn. I’m an avid crock potter…slow cookin while I’m out and about…perfect! I have grand plans to excel at following recipes…It’s progressing along very nicely by the by. My listening skills are excellent and I’m pretty dang funny. I’m the friend you come to for figuring shit out. Yeah, I’m pretty good at figuring shit out.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm a ginger and I smile a lot. (bam, first and second thing...I'm a rebel.. a rule breaker.)
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books: Shel Silverstein, Ken Kesey, Dr. Seuss.. Bossypants, I am the Messenger, The Poisonwood Bible, Tell the Wolves I'm Home, Memoirs of a Geisha, Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, etc. etc.. My book club dictates most of my reading these days and they're super smart folks.

A few of my favorite movies: Harold and Maude, Magnolia, The Royal Tenenbaums, Amelie, The Station Agent, Searching for Sugarman, Stand-up Comedy (Louis CK, Mike Birbiglia, Mark Maron, Maria Bamford, Chris Rock, etc...) and most any documentary.

Music...Patty Griffin, Prince, Ryan Adams, Beyonce, Bon Iver, Ages and Ages, Michael Franti, Jack White...
I listen to podcasts regularly:
This American Life, Strangers, WTF, Radio Lab, etc. etc.

Shows: Arrested Development, Parks and Rec, Dexter, Orange is the New Black, Mad Men, 30 Rock (Liz Lemon is my unlikely hero), Louie (love comedy!)

Food. Yes. I like food.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
community
connection
funny people
singing loudly when driving or biking
natural beauty
compassion/empathy/forgiveness (breaking the rules again!)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Why wasn't Wonder Woman invisible in her invisible jet? Didn't anyone see her floating in the sky and wonder why?
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Out with friends to happy hour.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I think this question is just silly... if I told you, on the internet, then it really wouldn't be private anymore. Silly.
You should message me if
Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You think hilarious gingers are the bees' knees.
You’re a catch…a good guy who sees the value in intimacy and laughter.
You don’t mind if I sing out loud in the shower or car even though my voice is far from great.
You’re also looking for someone to share good times with....you're confident and funny, kind and tallish.
