I am adventurous, clever, and humorous.
My Self-Summary
CAUTION: This profile is really fucking long. Get a cup of tea and
clear your schedule for the next thirty minutes. Seriously. It's
like a book. Even this warning is long. It's like one of the DVD
messages that plays before the title and tells you not to steal,
and then says it all over again in French. I could probably make a
full length feature film of just me reading this profile. Although
I guess I would have me played by Christopher Lloyd. Or mebbe
Leonard Nimoy. Those guys have cool voices.
Hi. My name is Peet. Pleased to meet you. I have a strong affinity
to
adventure and
randomness, and
my biggest dislike is limiters. I'm big on things like
freedom and
reason and the uniqueness of
every situation. I tend to live a fine line between seriousness and
silliness. Pretty much everything that comes out of my mouth is
either sincere or sarcastic. It has been a challenge to me to find
the right balance. I think life is exponentially more interesting
with other people around. My second favorite thing to do is
screwing around while I'm out doing importantish stuff. My favorite
thing to do is make out. I make for good conversation but am
terrible at starting one. Or ending one for that matter. I suppose
other people would describe me as a geek, or a gamer, or some kind
of modern day Don Juan, but in practice I defy all such
conventions.
Upon review of the completion of this profile, I actually come off
as being way more creative than I am, which is not to say I am not
creative. It just isn't as readily apparent. Also, for some reason
all my matches seem to be bisexual. A friend of mine has suggested
that I would naturally attract the type of person who would be open
minded. Another thought it was just trendy to be bi nowadays.
I have a terrible, terrible habit of messaging people with exactly
what they say not to message. It is solely for my personal
amusement and I am very, very shamed of myself. Really.

What I’m doing with my life
Right now I am at a point where I can afford to take all the time I
need to decide what the next step is. I am enrolled at Sinclair and
am taking 19 credit hours worth of personal interest courses.
Monday through Thursday, I get up, make breakfast, bike to school,
and have a crazy great time learning all about swimming,
weightlifting, operating systems, sculpture, and automobiles. On
weekends it gets even better! I sweep, clean the bathroom, go
grocery shopping, sit around, and wish that I had somebody
interesting to hang out with. Oh wait. That's not better. That's
much, much worse! I need to get out of this apartment! If only
there were some way to look for cool people like me who look for
cool people like me... (For the last half of that paragraph I was
sounding like
Strong Bad in my head.)

I’m really good at
Sarcasm. No
really. I swear. Oh, and I swear too. A lot. But I'm not really
good at
swearing,
now that I think about it. I suppose I am really good a
thinking about things. I
think. But I swear I think I'm really good at the sarcasm.
I find that I am able to take to things at a rapid pace. Once I
understand the underlying concept, most activities become a matter
of practice.
A semi-complete list of skills and favored activities would
include: Making pizzas, Fixing cars, Using technology, Deep
thought, Making out, Asinine humor, Playing games, Driving,
Construction, Entertaining myself, Standardized tests, Camping.
The first things people usually notice about me
My hair. Or more accurately now, my lack of hair. Or my eyes when
I'm not wearing glasses. Actually it's more like my friends notice
when I'm not wearing my glasses. People also tend to notice whether
or not I'm on
fire.
Well, maybe just when I am on fire. Of course, I usually notice
when someone else is on fire as well, so mebbe that's not so much
of a "me" centric thing. I've been told I "look" tall. My brash
personality and boisterous mannerisms perhaps? Apparently I smell
good.
If anyone accuses me of thinking only of physical appearance, I
must say that I usually meet people in real life, and in real life,
85% of the time you see a person before you can directly experience
anything else about them. So, unless you are relying on the
observational skills of others and their ability to communicate
their ideas to you (which in my experience has always been, "Yeah,
she's cool" with mebbe a "dude" or two thrown in), for the context
of this question we're sticking to the physical. So, enough about
that. On to the next part!

My favorite books, movies, music, and food
This section always seemed to me to be the part where you come up
with things that no one has ever heard of so that you can either
(1)feel superior for your
l337 avant-garde bohemian underground indy multimedia skillz or (2)finally find someone who can
understand what the freak you are talking about.
I haven't read anything much lately, although I almost drove my
mother bankrupt by having her buy me all the
Star Wars Expanded
Universe books when I was a kid. (As a side note, apparently
only two other people on OkCupid like the
Star Wars Expanded
Universe. I could be starting a love triangle. Mebbe I should
de-link it. UPDATE: It has come to my attention that there are now
5 people who list it as an interest, none of which are the original
two. The only logical conclusion is they engaged in a whirlwind
romance and are now married with nine kids. As they have found the
greatest love of all times, they are no longer in need of their
profiles, and as such have deleted them. Also, I think I have spent
enough time on this asinine tangent. Moving on.) UPDATE UPDATE: Now
there's. like, 75 people and 7 quizzes. This is getting
absurd.
The last book I read was
Max Tucker's
I Hope They Serve
Beer in Hell. That was an amusing read. I suppose graphic
novels count nowadays.
Watchmen,
League of
Extraordinary Gentlemen,
V for Vendetta,
Sandman. I remember when
reading
comic
books wasn't cool. Get off my lawn! I also enjoy
manga. Just popular shōnen,
though.
Bleach,
Naruto,
One Piece, and
Fullmetal
Alchemist.
Psyren and
Liar Game as well.
I mostly watch what's up on
the pirate bay top 100 movies,
as, for better or worse, modern film as a whole is good for viewing
the popular culture zeitgeist. In other words, a few hours every
week is enough to put up with in order to never again have answer,
"No, I don't watch movies." to everyone who asks, "Dude! Did you
see foo Movie 2???/? It was freakin sweet!!11!!" as they proceed to
foam at the mouth.
There's no TV section, but that's ok, because I can make my own. I
do not have broadcast or cable television in my home. I haven't for
a long time. The style of series I do enjoy are along the lines of
Mythbusters,
Dexter,
Heroes, and
Adult Swim. I just watched
through all of
Firefly last week.
I find music from my friends, the radio, or billboard top whatever.
And then I look it up on the internet. And if I like it, I
pirate it.
yar. I refuse to
adhere to genres. The last three songs I added were by
MIKA,
Junior Senior, and
Electric Light
Orchestra. The most interesting song I have heard in a long
time is
Do you
wanna cuz it's Tricky my Sharona by
Thriftshop XL. I also am playing
through the
Guitar
Hero series, so I'm picking up a lot of those songs too.
Pandora.com is fun as well.
I learned to cook for myself through several wonderful ladies who
were kind enough to divulge their secrets to me, although I still
like to go out for anything new and interesting. That being said, I
used to get a taco salad from
Wendy's on my way to work everyday. I
would have to say that my favorite style and ingredients are
Lebanese, with
Greek coming in a
close second. I also can eat more than anyone else I know. That's a
little fun fact for ya. Pretty much the only things I eat nowadays
are raisin bran, bananas, and turkey wraps with fresh
cilantro.
In addition, I have decided to add a section on teh internets, as
it is SERIOUS BUSINESS. I read
Slashdot,
Digg, and
Fark for news. I used to read about twenty
webcomics, but now I stick to
VG Cats,
xkcd,
Goblins, and
Penny Arcade. I also enjoy playing
the
Wikipedia
game.
Also also, I have decided to add another media section on the topic
of games. The games I currently play on a regular basis are the
Guitar
Hero/
Rock
Band series and
World of Warcraft on the
server
Smolderthorne. My favorite games
would be
Fallout,
System Shock,
Civilization,
Deus Ex,
Red Alert, any of the
old Black Isle D&D games, any of the SNES RPGs, and pretty much
anything multiplayer. Yes, I ascribe to the idea of games as art. I
also very much enjoy non-video games, like as board games, sports,
or role playing games. I suppose above all I enjoy participation
with other people. Also, I just 'finished' Fallout 3 and have
decided that it's a mixed bag of excellence, good story, poor
story, bugs, and 'Why can't I do that instead?'. Pretty much like
all the other ones in the series.
The six things I could never do without
In no particular order...
1 is for the 1nternet, the lens through which I see.
2 is for |2andomeness, I must have entropy.
3 is for <3, my friends and family.
4 is for 4dventure, out there's the life for me.
5 is for 5omething to do when I am bored, like rhyming for no
particular reason. (I'm stopping by the way.)
6 is for 6, but replacing the i for an e(ye). (That was kinda like
a riddle. I'm so smrat. ^-^)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Our place in the universe. And
pie. I like pie.
That was a non sequitur. I actually spend most of my thinking on
how to amuse myself and others. It's a little misanthropic, but
we're gonna be here a while and it helps to pass the time. As such
I constantly feel the need to share my random musings with
everybody around me. I would just hate for them to miss out on a
little humor.
On a typical Friday night I am
Apparently I am on OkCupid editing my profile. ¬_¬ I think this
question is under the assumption that people have fun on Friday. I
have fun on Saturday. On Saturday I'm out
drinking with my friends, playing poker
if it's the first Saturday, or, if I'm lucky, out for some other
random
adventure. And by random adventure, I mean going to a bar,
seeing a bunch of people climbing into a van, and then climbing in
myself, not knowing exactly who these people are nor where we are
going. Now that was adventure. I am always (read ALWAYS) up for
random adventure, so never hesitate to inform me of some ill
advised idea for strange trips to strange places with strange
people.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
See, I think that this part isn't about what you think is private.
I think this is the section where you say something that other
people find private, but you have no such notions. The very core of
secrecy is the nonproliferation of some fact or idea. If you are
willing to admit it, it isn't private to you. As such, I am unable
to answer, as anything I would answer is not private, and anything
that is private, I would not admit.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to avoid the question. It's just
that in my experience people and I usually have differing opinions
on what is and what is not private, and I have found most things
people think are my secrets are just things I didn't think were
interesting enough to other people to share.
Ummm... I like the sex?
You should message me if
you find me in any way more interesting than anyone else you've
ever messaged. Or massaged. In fact if you're interested in
massaging me, you should message me right away. My massage message
may make many memorable moments.
You should especially message me if any of the following apply: You
like Mario Kart. You have eyes of unusual or multiple colors. It's
Valentine's Day and you are reading this. You know what Reiman sums
are. You have ideas for random adventure. You have actually met me
in real life. You have a habit of challenging people to silly
contests. You have upon making a mistake ever thought "Edit ->
Undo". You attend any of the same classes as I. You own a castle.
You actually were able to follow my train of thought throughout
this page. It would also help if you kept your manners. You'd think
I was interested in 16 year old boys from some of the messages I've
gotten.
You should probably not message me if you include in daily
lifestyle decisions ideas such as magic, ghosts, aliens, karma,
theism, spirituality, or fate. I prefer to spend my time with
people who know the difference between fantasy and reality and who
choose to separate them. This is mostly to protect you, as I am not
the most diplomatic when communicating with individuals who have no
evidence to support their extraordinary claims. Case in point, I
rewrote that last sentence six times before I was able to refrain
from using demeaning terminology.
If you've gotten this far, then it would be a waste of your
valuable time not to at least drop me a "ur profiles cool" message.
I concur that the internet is in no way a perfect replacement for
interpersonal communications, but unless you have a solid reason
for not messaging me (or massaging me, as the case may be), the few
seconds saved by not doing so would pale in comparison to the few
minutes taken to get this far. My screen name on pretty much
everything is peetsnack.
Also also, if you live in Dayton, drop me a line. I am always
looking for new friends. Most of mine are two hours north. That is,
unless you cheated and skipped to the bottom. Then you fail the
course and get put on academic probation.
