Well...hmm. My name's Ferris, I live in Columbia and I'm 18 years old. I'm still in high school, which is why I'm here - I feel like there are a lot of awesome people in Columbia that I'm just never going to come into contact with without some help.

It'd be cool to meet someone and date them, but it'd also be awesome to just meet some new people and make friends.

I like cooking, especially baking. I like reading also, and I spend a lot of time online. I don't drive anywhere ever but I love walking and my bike is pretty kick-ass. Music is great too but I think there's a whole other section for that, so I'll save it.

I'm overweight. If you're not cool with that I guess you should just move on.

I guess just be honest and straightforward with me, and I'll be the same with you.

I'm still in high school. After that I may take a gap year and do something like Americorps, and then I want to go to a culinary school and bake for a living.

I'm a pretty good baker. I like it because it's very scientific and exact, so I always know when I'm doing things right and I feel less nervous. When I'm cooking something and my culinary teacher says to put in "a pinch" or "a lot" of this or that I always feel a little anxious.

I'm excellent at buying presents for people, which I am very proud of.

I'm also really good at reading people. It's both entertaining and useful.

I give really amazing hugs.

I'm...short and I dress funny. I wear a lot of bright colors because it's super fun.

Also, I don't normally smile in pictures unless someone else is taking them - and I tend to be shy around cameras anyway - but in real life I laugh all the time. I'm kind of bad at facial expressions in general. I sometimes can't figure out how to configure my face, or imagine what it must look like to other people. It's probably noticeable.

I also view makeup as a hobby more than a necessity, so my face may sometimes reflect this. Heh.

Books: My favorite author is Margaret Atwood so I guess all her books would go on this list, except for Surfacing, which I didn't like much at all. My favorite is The Edible Woman, and The Robber Bride is great also.
The Dexter books are great although like most fans I'm trying to pretend the third one never happened.
I love Harry Potter and all of Lemony Snicket's work, so literary snobs, shuffle on along. The last book I read was Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, I found it very beautiful and funny and interesting but it made me feel pretty dumb and a little boring (I think this is a normal reaction). Right now I'm reading two books, An Abundance of Katherines and The Stolen Tongue, and after that I'm supposed to read The Goose Girl. I'm mostly reading recommended books right now, so if you have any suggestions, drop me a line.
Some other books I like are The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao, I Capture The Castle, The Greatest Show on Earth, Unwind, and A Clockwork Orange. I mean, there's other stuff too..

Movies: I'm not a huge movie person but I do like a few. I really like Miyazaki's films. I also like V for Vendetta, The Life Aquatic, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (yes, the new one, wanna fight about it?), Silence of the Lambs, and some others.

Music: ...Oh man. I have last.fm, my account is theinnocuous and you should hit me up there. I'm a giant music nerd, which means there is exactly one person who ever wants to talk about music with me.

I'm not even going to mess with food. I am a pretty picky eater although I'll try most things. I do like Italian food though.

Other people, I guess? People are fascinating to me. I'd be a good therapist except I don't think it'd be professional to hug your clients all the time.

It kind of depends on what other people are doing. A lot of my friends either work often or spend Friday nights at parties where people are drinking, which I don't do, and being around intoxicated people when you're sober is the worst. So when other people are busy I stay at home and watch movies and stuff. When I have time with my friends we walk around, eat, watch movies, play video games, you know, the usual stuff.

I'm a little bit lonely.

I don't know, I can't think of much I'd want to put here. I've been told I'm "hard to get to know". I don't know what that means.

I dunno, I guess if you're looking for friends or love or whatever. Please don't lie about your intentions - you don't have to pretend you want to be bffs if you just want to fool around, I mean I guess unless you're planning on murdering me or something, in which case you should probably lie about that.
