I'm stable, but spontaneous. Logical, but totally quirky sometimes.
Love to have fun and go out, but also need peace and solitude as
well. Passion is important to me; even if what you're passionate
about doesn't agree with mine. I don't think two people have to be
identical in beliefs, but do have to be respectful of each other.
And I'm sure I'll add more to this later.
What I’m doing with my life
I changed direction a couple years ago after the death of a very close friend. Cliché-ish, but true. I kept thinking that I didn't want my tombstone to read 'she wished she'd taken time to.....'
I'm pretty zealous about trying new things and don't necessarily cling to a comfort zone. I love to learn and at this age it doesn't matter to me if I look silly doing them or not :) Last year I began ballroom dance lessons (which I'm good at), would like to do a scuba refresher this year, and hopefully fencing lessons in the near future.
I used to travel (for work) a lot and devote much more time to work than I should have. But now, I don't drive more than 3 miles for work; I'm getting things accomplished that I had been putting off, although I lose sight of that from time to time; I'm having fun; and to quote a 1960's Julie Andrews movie "I'm looking for my life."
I’m really good at
Being intuitive; 80's rock trivia; asking questions; making people
feel comfortable; laughing out loud :)
The first things people usually notice about me
My smile, friendliness and sense of humor. :)
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Some eclectic tastes in all of the above; some mainstream as well, but am willing to try anything. Favorite book ever is The Count of Monte Cristo, followed by Tarzan (not at all like the 50's tv series, trust me). Love live theatre and music of all (seriously, 95%) types. Love the Belcourt & small music venues. And, I am food experimental. One of my fave things is to explore those tiny, ethnic restaurants on Nolensville Road. Nothing better than to stumble upon a restaurant gem (5-star or dive) that no one knows about.
The six things I could never do without
My best friend
Sunset on my fave Caribbean island
Passion for life
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Why people make the decisions they do...not in a judgmental way,
On a typical Friday night I am
Various and sundry things...there's not a blueprint for sure.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I adore Sam Elliott regardless of how old he is :)
You should message me if
you're interested in someone with whom you can converse and have
fun with; if you like variety and not the same-ole, same-ole.
Sometimes the couch is great; but so is a spontaneous trip to a
never-before-tried restaurant, music venue, etc.
