My self-summary
Once upon a time, I was an aspiring art historian, but now I pretty much read comics. It feels like I've lived a few lives at this point, but I'm happy where I am now.

I collect globes, love animation and animals, and want to see as much of the world as I possibly can.
What I’m doing with my life
I work for a comic book shop. I was a customer first, and I told them one day that their social media could use a boost, and they ended up hiring me. Now I can read comics for free, and get paid to post nerdy things on tumblr.
I’m really good at
I am really good at reading books. If I like it, I'll finish it in a day. I'm good at getting obsessed with a tv series and watching all of it in a probably unwisely small span of time. I like to bake. I am really, really good at loving my dog. The two of us are good at taking long walks with no leashes. I'm not bad at this internet thing.
The first things people usually notice about me
When I yawn, I look like the mummy in the movie "The Mummy."
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: anything by Neil Gaiman, "Out of the Silent Planet" by C.S. Lewis, romance novels, young adult fantasy, murder mysteries, graphic novels, science fiction, just about anything by Jane Austen, Nancy Drew. Poetry by Pablo Neruda, e.e. cummings. Lots of comics. Comics should get their own thing, but The Sixth Gun is my fave.

Movies: How to Train Your Dragon, The Empire Strikes Back, The Princess Bride, The Mummy, Serenity, Sherlock Holmes, Singing in the Rain, terrible adventure movies, anything Miyazaki, just about anything by Pixar, Amelie.

TV:
I love Brooklyn Nine Nine so much that I married it. Also: Monty Python, Firefly, Stargate, Community, Parks and Rec, 30 Rock, Misfits, Primeval, Sherlock, Venture Bros, Adventure Time, Gravity Falls, Steven Universe, Doctor Who, Cosmos, Orphan Black, Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries, Arrow, DC animated stuff

Music: A great many things. Classic pop and rock, modern rock, musicals, soundtracks, stuff I can sing along to, shouty girl rock from the 90s

Food: if it can be boiled down to essentially cheese and crackers, I probably like it. Also pickles.
The six things I could never do without
My dog
My family
My passport
A book to lose myself in
Tea
The sea
I spend a lot of time thinking about
The places on Earth I'd like to see, those three kids they show before any show in an AMC cinema. What are those kids up to these days? I hope they're having good lives. (I was going to update this, but I still wonder about those kids, and they don't even show them before the films anymore.)
On a typical Friday night I am
I have a weird work schedule, and Friday nights are more like my Sunday nights. So Fridays, I'm usually watching tv or reading, unless someone else has physically ejected me from my house for some reason. During the summer, I go to a lot of Nats games.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
When I read, I sometimes pick a character and read their part aloud--and I totally do accents.
