My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm a student (I recently moved to Savannah from California for grad school) and a musician. I read a lot. I'm kind of a nerd, and my sense of humor alternately delights and/or terrifies people. I have a slight tea addiction. I desperately want to travel. I'm very fascinated by neuroscience and language and, luckily, those are components of what I'm studying right now. I'm a trained classical singer, and I sing a lot of opera, but I won't sing an aria for you in the middle of Target to prove it. Essentially, I'm just nerdy, enamored of all art, and fond of spontaneity.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Grad school. Trying to explore more of Savannah. Singing and performing as much as I can. Reading constantly. Hanging out with my dog.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
-ignoring everything going on around me while I read
- cooking chicken noodle soup
- Simpsons trivia
- harmonizing with songs playing on my iphone while I drive
- parallel parking, but only when no one is watching me
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
- I'm little! 5'3
- I have strange greenish-yellowish eyes that get comments from people, occasionally. Mostly asking me if I wear contacts. I do not.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

Books: Margaret Atwood, Neil Gaiman, Mark Twain, Angela Carter, Susanna Clarke, Nabokov, Philip Pullman, Ann Patchett, ... this list would go on forever, if I let it. Also, lately I've been OBSESSED with the A Song of Ice and Fire (aka Game of Thrones) books, but no one I know reads them, so if you do, please talk to me about them. I have many thoughts on them that I haven't been able to talk with anyone about for fear of spoilering them. Haha.
Movies: anything Kubrick, Kurosawa, Miyazaki, Milos Forman, Christopher Nolan, Wes Anderson, Paul Thomas Anderson.
Shows: Community, Venture Bros, Breaking Bad, 30 Rock, Louie, Firefly, Mad Men.
Music: Mozart, Debussy, Britten, Ives, Barber, Schubert, Beethoven, Neutral Milk Hotel, Elliott Smith, Amanda Palmer, Rufus Wainwright, Opeth, Atmosphere, Cat Power, Dirty Projectors, Fleet Foxes, TV on the Radio and many, many other things.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
-tea
-a book
-my dog
- music of some kind
... That's it, really.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Music, how awesome the universe is, language, whatever songs I'm working on are often stuck in my head, any number of things....
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Studying, rehearsing, hanging out with friends, or some combination of those three.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I have a brachydactyly thumb, which technically makes me a mutant. Still waiting on my invite to Charles Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters....

You would give a book with an inscription as a gift, think Neil DeGrasse Tyson and Carl Sagan are really cool dudes, are willing to yell-sing along to the entirety of In the Aeroplane Over the Sea on a car ride, would trade reading recommendations and then actually read the books that are brought up (I'll totally do the same), willingness to participate in last minute, unplanned adventures is also a plus.
