I am thoughtful, curious, and quirky.

My Self-Summary

I like traveling, meeting new friends, and conversations within a smaller group setting (do not think noisy, crowded bars). I enjoy hiking and camping too, although I'm not big on fishing or hunting. Over the past year or so, I have watched a surprising number of Anime. I enjoy learning new words. I'd like to become fluent in a second language, and more. I'm a nerd at heart. I don't like clubbing, or the gay scene. People don't always understand my sarcasm, but in general I'm a really laid back person with a self-deprecating sense of humor. I will definitely tease you, but will poke fun of myself as well.

I'm out to my twin sister, and some of my friends. Not out to my parents yet, or extended family. Right now, my priority is just meeting some nice guys for friendship. My faith is a really important part of my life. I have friends with various political, philosophical, and religious (or atheistic) beliefs, and have a tremendous amount of respect for them. Agreement is not necessary to be a friend, but mutual respect is. Having said that, I wouldn't be interested in committing to a relationship with someone who does not share similar Christian beliefs. Sola gratia. I'm pretty traditional in that sense.

Politically, I don't fit into a box.

I'm sure if I tried I could think of more, but I'm done for now.

What I’m doing with my life

I'm in law school. I'm not sure what I want to be when I grow up, and kind of hoping I never really grow up. I'm going to the gym often to counter the fact that I sit on my butt and read for classes so much.

I’m really good at

Procrastinating (but who isn't?). I like to think I'm a good writer, but it depends on what the purpose of the writing is. I was decent at piano years ago, but stopped playing back in ~2003. I'd like to get back into it some day. I like to think I am good at thinking logically, and I tend to be diplomatic. Recently I was told what the characteristics of a libra are (my astrological sign), and I think it's a surprisingly accurate description.

The first things people usually notice about me

No clue, you'd have to ask them. I've had comments on my voice. It's kind of deep.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Books: Count of Monte Cristo, War and Piece, the Lord of the Rings (the books and movies, they were good too!), Wheel of Time series, and many, many others.

Movies: I tend to watch movies for enjoyment, and occasionally for self-education. My favorite tend to be comedy, and horror films don't usually interest me. Movies I like which come to mind are I <3 Huckabees, and Ever After. I also like the X-Men movies, and the first Spiderman movie.

Music: I played piano for 10 years and saxophone for six. Piano became my first love, and my favorite music is still classical piano (Romantic Era; think Chopin, Liszt, and Rachmaninoff, but certainly others as well). Apart from that, I enjoy a large variety of music, but I don't pay much attention to the writer or artist who performed it. I'll listen to most things besides [most] country and rap.

Food: I enjoy a lot of foods, but lately it's been Thai and Italian. Actually, Italian has always been one of my favorites. Not big on vegetarian dishes.

The six things I could never do without

Christ, my twin sister, my friends, my computer, my imagination, pumpkin pie?

I spend a lot of time thinking about

My faith, my future, and whatever story line from a book or movie that I was recently into.

On a typical Friday night I am

Talking with my friends in Arizona, or putzing around online.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I'm gay.
