My self-summary
My name's Chris. I'm not sure what this section is for, since the ones down below hog all the interesting information, so scroll down for the good stuff (aforementioned stuff not guaranteed to be good).

That being said, I've always been really interested in science and I've become pretty passionate about environmental science and ecology in the last few years, so that's a big part of my personality I guess. I also have a good sense of humor and I try not to take most things too seriously. I can be pretty sarcastic most of the time, which I consider a good quality in others too.
What I’m doing with my life
I recently got accepted for a full-time position as an environmental scientist with a pretty large company and I've been there for about 6 months now, so I'm pretty excited about starting my career. The 3 day weekends are a pretty nice benefit too. My degree is in biology and my particular areas of interest are in evolution and ecology, not necessarily in that order. I plan on applying for a M.S. program soon in ecology and eventually a PhD program.

Science? I hope
Taking months to read a book because I keep starting new ones.

The first things people usually notice about me
My eyes, most of the time. It's weird.
Also that despite being half Sicilian-American I'm incredibly white. All of my Scottish genes were clearly dominant.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
This is all off the top of my head and shouldn't be considered definitive. I reserve the right to add/subtract items at my leisure.

I enjoy horrir/sci-fi movies, especially older ones. Some of my recent favorites are Star Wars 4-6, Scott Pilgrim, Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, Step Brothers, Juno, and anything with RiffTrax over it. I also love more classics films like Seven Samurai, Metropolis, Citizen Kane (I was skeptical at first, but it ended up blowing me away), and so on.

My favorite band is Less Than Jake but I also love most ska and punk bands: NOFX, Streetlight Manifesto/Catch 22, Reel Big Fish, Sublime, Rancid, etc.

Some of my favorite fiction books are Catch 22, 1984, Shogun, Musashi, and Fahrenheit 451. In terms of nonfiction, there are plenty of good scientific books I've read recently such as Your Inner Fish by Neil Shubin, Botany of Desire by Michael Pollan, Every Living Thing, anything by E.O. Wilson, and the Origin of Species by my main man Charles Darwin.
