My self-summary
I like whiskey and campfires and footnotes and running and my passport.
What I’m doing with my life
Blowtorching food, trail running, mapping the bars and coffee houses of the world, convincing restaurants to serve me properly spicy food, playing games, following falses, drinking in the library, changing plans, finding more music.
I’m really good at
clicking refresh. I once clicked refresh so well that I snagged a pair of tickets to a Tom Waits concert that sold out before it went on sale. That's basically an Olympic gold in clicking refresh.
The first things people usually notice about me
Usually my smile or my glasses or this one time the orange shirt that I was wearing. Oh, and I say "on your left" a lot.

Alternatively, you've met me at a dinner party, and you just put whatever it is that I brought into your mouth, and you're noticing that this thing is tasty, and that you're in some pain, and you're thinking that you're going to have some more anyways, probably, and you're noticing that I kind of suck.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
20 really good things, no particular order.

White Noise, Tigana, Moby Dick, Infinite Jest, A Fire Upon the Deep, House of Leaves, 2001, Moonrise Kingdom, A Town Called Panic, Donnie Darko, Los Campesinos!, Anders Osborne, Beirut, Tom Waits, Deadwood, Borderlands 2, Demon's Souls, Banh Mi from Lucy's, seared toro from Chaya, lamb shephard's pie from Piper's.
The six things I could never do without
It being the 21st century and me being in the first world, the 6 things I /choose/ not to do without are:

Netflix. The very best way to watch a TV series is all at once.
Chilis. I really want all of them, but jalapeno/serrano/bird would be enough, I suppose.
Coffee. Good coffee can be amazing (21st Street! Espresso a Mano!), but in the morning, I really, really just need coffee.
Running. Not only is this super satisfying all by itself, but it takes care of my next pick, which is:
Beer. Travel is a great way to appreciate just how good we've got it with the local beer scene.
iPhone. I have all my Kindle books with me; I have the internet with me; I can get more books. Sweet.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
food, my next iced coffee, vacation.
On a typical Friday night I am
I like variety, so most things are go. Bar, live music, fancy restaurant, hole-in-the-wall restaurant, game night, movie night, cooking at home. Opera and clubbing do not agree with me.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I sometimes browse profiles to get book recommendations, think that the hash's dress runs are awesome, and freaking LOVE math and physics.
I’m looking for
  • Girls who like guys
  • Ages 27–45
  • Near me
  • Who are single
  • For long-term dating, short-term dating
You should message me if
you've got something to say. Short is good: there's no need for an essay contest before we hang out and see if there's a spark, right?

PS I would win the essay contest.
