My self-summary
I like pushing the limit of what's socially acceptable a little too much.

Currently working to end aging, abolish suffering, engineer superhappiness and know everything.

But I also want fun, laughter, excitement and connection, and I think I can work on both sets of things at the same time.

More me: scientist, drug war abolitionist, feminist, aspiring neophile, empiricist.

Want some advice? You should expose yourself to bulk, positive randomness. You grow as a person by pushing yourself to encounter new things, so meet people, read books others aren't reading, dip into new fields and see where the rabbit hole leads.

Hence, my current plan: to not have too much of a plan. At this stage I'm open-minded about where my career—and life—ends up.

I want to meet new people—for romance, friendship, whatever. Other people are the stuff life's made of, so grab a beer with me and let's see where it takes us.
What I’m doing with my life
Working in science communications while doing other things on the side, including helping out with a charity that wants to extend healthy lifespan and abolish aging. Which I think is a noble goal.
I’m really good at
flirting with people on buses, apparently.
The first things people usually notice about me
I look older than I am. (Most people guess 25–28, and I've even had 32 before.)

Strong jawline. Good cheekbones.

Also, there's an intensity to me when the conversation starts flowing. Not everyone likes it.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
If you've heard of Sasha Shulgin, I like you already. (In case you don't know him: he invented or rediscovered most of the psychedelics you can buy today.)

I recently watched and loved The Breakfast Club and St. Elmo's Fire. Brat Pack ftw.

*Music*
According to last.fm, I really like Moby, M83, Röyksopp, Sigur Rós, Beirut, Joe Hisaishi, Michael Nyman, Interpol, The National, The Black Keys, Metric, Bombay Bicycle Club, Dave Brubeck, Sufjan Stevens, Turin Brakes, Foals, Florence + the Machine.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Just how committed to hedonism I really am. Civilisation is the best thing humans have ever done, but I'm not certain we wouldn't be happier as self-stimulating wireheads. Suffice it to say, I wrestle with this more than is normal.

Better living through chemistry.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'm not sure I'll ever be as happy I was when I was a child.

Don't get me wrong—my life is better now than it ever has been. But it feels like, to some extent, the peaks and troughs get smoothed over as I get older: the lows aren't as low but the highs aren't as meteoric. I'm not sure I'll recapture the 'magic' I used to feel.

Also, I watch way too much Skins.
