My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
So I've rewritten this thing a few times and don't really know how I want to approach it anymore. If I were you I would just look at the listed interests, pictures, and maybe match % (it's ussually alarmingly acurate in my experiences and I don't know how I feel about that) and then let's chat! Also an addendum: I made the name phillyartist215 when I was still living in NE Philly and now I only visit on a weekly basis while living elsewhere. I don't love the screen name to begin with but nor do I love the idea of coming up with a new one and answering another _00 questions on a new account so that a creepy algorithm can make eerily acurate character compatibility assessments on people I haven't met.

I like drawing and reading and crafty beers and usually making fun of things. If you would like to do any of those things too let's do them together.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Right now I'm listening to John Krusinski trying to sell me car insurance on Spotify, because I won't pay $12 a month or whatever for a premium music service. I'm probably not any happier about it than he is...

Currently making and selling artwork wherever the opportunity presents itself and working a 9-5. Living the dream.

I like reading. Sometimes I'll pretend that enjoying reading is enough to mean I know how to write. It never works out well.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Who am I to say what I'm "good" at? I'm probably the most biased judge of that there is right?

I know I'm good at drawing, I don't feel that way all of the time, but for the most part I'm confident in my drawings. I think I'm particularly good at drawing portraits, and nature illustrations in black and white. Sometimes people give me money for art, which in high school I was told was impossible.

I also read a lot, particularly anything Vonnegut, David F Wallace, Eggers, or Hemingway. Also poetry, Dickenson, Sanderg.

I'm also really good at never updating software.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
People notice really superficial things first right? So my height I guess, I have blue eyes, kind of beardy with intermittently long and shaggy or shaved. This is a really strange thing to try and think about to be honest, I don't think I know. Maybe I walk funny or blink slowly or lick my lips obsessively and don't realize it. Maybe there's something painfully obvious to those around me that I've never been alerted to because of some social grace. Should I ask someone I know? That would also be weird. Probably come off a little self involved. Maybe tell them it's for a dating profile? That should make it normal. Cool.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Music: This is really only a small section of what i like its all over the place. favorite all time is Modest Mouse. Then, Teebs, Animal Collective, Neutral Milk Hotel, Future Islands, LCD Soundsystem, Aphex Twin, Four Tet, Baths, MF Doom, Shlohmo, The Microphones, The Books, Tom Vek, Gold Panda, Department of Eagles, Bibio, Working For A Nuclear Free City, Cat Power, Alt J, Beck, Beirut, Giraffes?Giraffes!, Los
Campesinos, Octopus Project, etc etc.

A band would be really smart to call themselves "A little of everything", because everyone on here claims that's what they listen to...
Also Uhh Yeah Dude. For life. If you listen to UYD I might already be in love.

Authors: Kurt Vonnegut, Hemingway, David Foster Wallace, Dave Eggers, Grant Morrison, Danielewski, Brian Greene.

Directors: Wes Anderson, Shane Caruth, Coen Bros, Tarintino, Woody Allen, Miyazaki. I also really like weird documentaries. Assasination of Jesse James, Danny Boyle films and do far I've loved everything by Jean Luc Godard that I've seen.

Tv: Louis, Game of Thrones, Walking Dead, Parks and Rec, funny animation, and shows about space and physics. a lot more too. Or sports, I think I could watch any sport on TV and at the very least avoid boredom.

Food: im a craft beer nerd. Food wise I'm adventurous, but also experiment a lot with vegetarian, gluten free, vegan, etc, from time to time. I have a hard time sticking with anything, even just a plain diet.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Art, whether it's fine art, writing, films, TV, music, performance, whatever. Seeing truly amazing art is the most life affirming experience I think I ever have. That's the only thing I couldn't live without.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
If I were a family in Westeros what would my house sigil, colors, and motto be...

Where inspiration comes from. How to better think about art and creativity and process. And the muses, always.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
No typical Friday nights. Sometimes I'm out trying to find small shows or particular craft beers, sometimes selling art at first Friday in old city, sometimes staying in and drinking and drawing solo, or hanging out with people. I have no idea which of these is the most typical at the moment.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I hold out hope that someday I'll have a moment like the one in Moonrise Kingdom the first time Sam and Suzy met.

Also I'm terrible at first messages on here, which is weird because I don't really have a problem initiating conversation in real life. So if I sent you an awkward first message and you're investigating my page I apologize and promise it gets better.

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You think we'd have something to talk about, common interests, especially art,

Also I've definitely found a really uncomfortable and eery accuracy in OKC's match % system. I'm not saying I'm opposed to talking to people who have a low match, but high matches make me a little more excited I guess, just from experience.

Not strictly interested in relationships at the moment either, I mean I'm single and interested in dating, but if you're particularly interested in making a friend I'm totally down.
