Like most people, I hate writing these self-description bits. But I guess I can tell you a few things!

-I love talking with new people whether we have similar interests or absolutely nothing in common.
-I enjoy being taught new things; I learn best when someone takes a hands-on approach to teaching me.
-I'm often a bit shy about messaging people, so it could very well take a few days for me get up the nerve. However if you message me, I'm pretty good about returning it.

After the past year of having to live my life from the sidelines, I'm just trying to get out there and enjoy it. Baking, reading, hiking and comics take up quite a bit of my time lately.

I've been thinking about taking a cooking class. I love playing around in the kitchen; experimental baking is the best! But a little more formal instruction wouldn't go amiss.

I smile and laugh a lot. Also, my initial shyness is often commented on.

I always have books lying around. I have a Nook that I do some of my reading on, but nothing beats having an actual book in your hands. I'm currently rereading Pride and Prejudice. Some favorite books that I go back to time and again would be the His Dark Materials Series, The Chronicles of Narnia, LotR, Song of the Lioness Quartet, and the Wicked Years Series.

Favorite TV shows include Doctor Who, Arrow, Grimm, Sherlock, and Misfits. Buffy the Vampire Slayer is a show that I will always love. Anything Joss Whedon is wonderful to me!

A sample of my movie preferences would be The Hobbit (and the LotR Trilogy), Les Miserables, The Avengers, Boondock Saints, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Captain America, and Beauty and the Beast.

Food. Peanut butter is possibly the most delicious food ever. Hot sauce is mandatory on my grocery list. As a general rule, I don't eat bread and sweets much, but (as I mentioned) I do love to bake and often have random goodies hanging around in the kitchen to force onto everyone else!

I like comics. At the moment I'm enjoying Green Arrow, Earth 2, and Avengers (plus a slew of others...).

I don't know that I have 6 things (assuming we're not counting physical necessities like food and such).
Books or other reading materials... a pillow, hot sauce... my Nook.

Either hanging out with friends or holed up with a book. Exciting, right?! I'm not big on things like clubs. Although I don't mind a good bar every now and then, especially if it's not too loud or busy. And even though I said that I don't smoke, I occasionally like to smoke a hookah, so you might find me in a hookah bar!

This section makes no sense to me. If I'm admitting it, it's really not all that private, now is it?

I'll tell you what I'm really looking for. I want to talk to people who are going to challenge me to think about things from a fresh perspective. Or maybe you like to teach people new things--I'm totally game for that! If you have something you're passionate about (or just think is really cool and fun) and you want to introduce someone to it, then I'm your girl!

... But I am going to ask that if you take the time to message me, please have something to say other than "wat up", "hey sexy", etc. If you don't have anything particular you're wanting to talk about, you could just tell me what it was that drew you to my profile. I'm always curious to know what sticks out at people. :-)
