My self-summary
Let's get this thing current. I'm engaged to a wonderful man that I met through this very site. We're expecting our first child to join us late January and couldn't be happier about it :-) I should have updated this long ago. I left my account open to keep up with some awesome friends I made here, but as my preferences state, I'm in a relationship and not looking for anything other than friendship.
What I’m doing with my life
I love piddling in the kitchen. Baking, reading, nursery-assembling, swimming and comics take up quite a bit of my time.

I recently took a bread baking class which was fantastic. As indicated above, I love playing around in the kitchen, and experimental baking is the best (I just perfected my chocolate chip cookies)! But a little more formal instruction certainly doesn't go amiss.
The first things people usually notice about me
I smile and laugh a lot. Also, my initial shyness is often commented on.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I always have books lying around. I have a Nook that I do some of my reading on, but nothing beats having an actual book in your hands. I'm currently rereading Pride and Prejudice. Some favorite books that I go back to time and again would be the His Dark Materials Series, The Chronicles of Narnia, LotR, Song of the Lioness Quartet, and the Wicked Years Series.

Favorite TV shows include Doctor Who, Arrow, Grimm, Sherlock, and Misfits. Buffy the Vampire Slayer is a show that I will always love. Anything Joss Whedon is wonderful to me!

A sample of my movie preferences would be The Hobbit (and the LotR Trilogy), Les Miserables, The Avengers, Boondock Saints, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Captain America, and Beauty and the Beast.

Food. Peanut butter is possibly the most delicious food ever. Hot sauce is mandatory on my grocery list. And anything that I can bake and then push onto everyone else is good in my book :-)

I like comics. At the moment I'm enjoying Green Arrow, Earth 2, and Avengers (plus a slew of others...).
The six things I could never do without
I don't know that I have 6 things (assuming we're not counting physical necessities like food and such).
Books or other reading materials... a pillow, hot sauce... my Nook.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
This section makes no sense to me. If I'm admitting it, it's really not all that private, now is it?
