I am Honest, photogeekish, and polyamorous.

My Self-Summary

I'm a product manager at a huge software company as my day job - but my heart is really more in my photography and digital image creation. I've had pieces in a few art shows, and I'm actively working on a lot of new stuff.

I read a lot, a mix of SF/F, other fiction and non-fiction.

Massage is another hobby - although a number of people have told me I should give up my day job and take up massage full time.

I've been polyamorous for many years, and was one of the founders of the Montreal Poly group in 2001. I've been with my 'primary' since 1995, and we had a daughter together in mid-2007. We live with my primary's OSO, who is taking an active parenting role with our daughter. I can highly recommend the 3 parents to 1 child ratio.

I don't expect anyone I'm seeing to take an active role in my daughter's life - in fact, it would have to be a very serious relationship before I'd consider that.

What I’m doing with my life

I'm passionate about my photography and image creation - I'd love to be able to make it my primary source of income, but I think I've got a ways to go before that happens. I enjoy my day job quite a lot, so I'm not in *that* big a rush.

I also like to encourage community - I helped found the montreal poly community 5 years ago, and have taken a fairly active role in keeping things going.

I’m really good at

My photography and artwork tends to get a lot of compliments.

I've had a lot of people be quite effusive about how good I am at massage. I've contemplated getting a certificate and starting to practice --- but I actually quite enjoy it, and I'm afraid that I wouldn't enjoy it as much if I had to do it professionally.

I've had a number of people tell me I've very good at throwing parties, and bringing together a group of interesting and intelligent people.

I'm a pretty good cook - I like cooking, and tend to produce pretty good food pretty consistently.

I'm also pretty good at making (and drinking) tea - I have a huge collection of teas - black, green, white, oolong, herbal, etc...

On a more ephemeral level, I'm quite good at getting my head around complex concepts, and figuring out when there is an 'impedance mis-match' between people in a discussion (when people think they are talking about the same thing, but aren't actually)

The first things people usually notice about me

The first thing people notice about me are usually my long hair and my smile.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Books^H^H^H^H^H Authors: Orson Scott Card, Lois McMaster Bujold, Robert Heinlein, Neil Gaiman, Steven Brust, Roger Zelazny, Edward De Bono, Edward Tufte,

Movies: Princess Bride, Fifth Element, Donnie Darko, many others

Music: Heather Dale, Jethro Tull, The Cruxshadows, most things aside from traditional country.

Food: Thai food - it's all about the coconut milk and the basil, Indian food, interesting pizza prepared on the bbq, very old cheddar.

The six things I could never do without

1: My camera, 2: My laptop (for processing images where-ever I am), 3: My daughter's smile 4: My friends 5: Tea 6: Cheese

I spend a lot of time thinking about

I spend a lot of time thinking about the composition of images that I'm working on, Issues related to privacy, Issues related to polyamory,

On a typical Friday night I am

I'm not sure that I have a 'typical' friday night - on a given Friday night I could be anything from staying at home and hanging out with the family and/or working on my art, going out for dinner with friends, going out on a date, or going out drumming

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

Hmm. Among my friends I'm not that private a person... At work, I'm a little less out about certain aspects of my life (poly, for instance).

You should message me if

You should message me if you are a multi-dimensional person with a fairly open mind who'd like interesting conversation, fantastic tea and/or a good massage.
