My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I just moved South. Looking for new opportunities and hoping to make some new friends along the way. Perhaps a relationship too, if things work out that way.

I tend to get along with nerds, geeks, artists, musicians, eccentrics, bohemians and other "non-conformist" types.

I tend not to get on as well with people who take their beliefs too seriously, be it their religion, ideology, or lifestyle politics. This might be the Bible Belt, but seeing someone with "(Astrology sign) and I take it very seriously" can be just as worrying as a fundamentalist.

I majored in philosophy in college, and I learned nothing, in the Socratic sense (not the Heideggerian sense). "It is better to know that you do not know than to think you know and not know". But some people would rather cling to their sense of certainty than accept the possibility, if not inevitability, of their own ignorance. I try to be open minded, but I also try to follow the evidence where it leads.

I have been know to go to shows in bars/clubs/basements/art galleries in my day. A lot of my friends are musicians.

I have been told I look like, and have even been mistaken for Spencer Reid from Criminal Minds. I personally don't think i look that much like him.

I am a bit of a geek.

I think OKC Match %. is like your high school guidance counselor telling you who you might like to date. A lot lot of questions they ask are pointless, which is what happens when mathematicians make a social site.

And why does it say something is irrelevant if I say I will accept any answer? I am not really in to telling people how to live their life, how to dress, whether or not to dye their hair pink, etc. That is the reason i answer that way most of the time (unless its a pointless question like "whats the longest you have ever stayed awake?")
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Thinking how OKCupid is an utter waste of time.

I count having seen every episode of Doctor Who (including reconstructions of the lost episodes) as a life achievement.

Also writing the Great American Novel, making music, photography and video.

Watch video tutorials to learn and expand my skill set.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Taking overly serious self portraits.

Photography, video, editing, writing, conversation, music (alright, i am only ok at that)

Stories are an important part of my life, and as such, I seem to watch a lot of television (mostly on Netflix because I have become spoiled by the internet and find commercials intolerable nowadays), movies, read, listen to audiobooks, etc.

For extended periods of time, I usually invested in a TV show, book or both. So having similar taste in media is sort of important to me in a match.

Books - I spend way too much time listening to audio books and not enough time actually reading. It is a bad(?) habit I have picked up in our age of digital laziness. I usually go for Non-fiction, Science Fiction, philosophy. I recently listened to the entire Harry potter series, read by Stephen Fry, in two months time. I experienced emotional withdraw afterwards.

Movies - Science Fiction. I like Ridely Scott, Stanley Kubric and a few other directors a lot. I also love James Bond movies. I also love going to the movies.

TV - Doctor Who, Star Trek, The Shield, The Wire (more than a show, its an education in society. Yes, I am one of those people), BattleStar Galactica, MI5, Boardwalk Empire, The Americans, Daria (I can relate to that character a lot, especially in high school), The Avengers (the 60s show with Emma Peel) Basically Spy shows, Sci-Fi and Cop shows that break out of the usual formula.

Food - I like Indian, Hibachi, Thai, and just food in general.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
My hatred of making prioritized lists?
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Humanity. Ideas for stories.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Depends whats going on and who else is doing what. Usually at the bar if there is a decent band playing and my friends are out. (Update: I have only been out once since moving south. JJ's Bohemia seems like a cool place though) If not, I say home and watch something, read, or try to be productive. I am never without a list of personal projects.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I have a OkCupid account. I know, I am so ashamed.

I hope that I have included something on this profile that could be the basis for a conversation (unlike most people on this site)
