My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm an atypical engineer. I like to think of my self as pretty extroverted and willing to open up quickly. I love spending time outdoors. I also do improv comedy.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I recently moved to the area to start the job of my dreams. I graduated from the University of Minnesota and am always looking to hang out with new friends.

New year, new job, new city, now I just need some new friends and, if I'm lucky, someone special.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I'd like to think I'm good at making people laugh and being optimistic. I love comedy, sarcasm, and just having a good time.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Well...you will have to let me know when we talk.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
I don't read a whole lot for pleasure (thanks work), but when I do it's usually something nerdy, whether that be an interesting science book (Death by Black Hole, Physics of the Impossible) or a fun fictional book (Harry Potter, Watchmen).

I like all types of movies. My favorites are The Prestige, Inception, Anchorman, The Ocean's Trilogy, or pretty much any great nerd SciFi flick/comic book movie.

My favorite TV shows range from Sherlock to Community, Top Gear to Top Chef. I have a tendency to fall in love with completed series and watching them all the way through. I've done this with Arrested Development, Battlestar Galactica, How I Met Your Mother (at least what is online of it), and my favorite show, Doctor Who.

I really like alternative and rock music. My favorite bands are the Flobots or Foo Fighters, I've seen them both a handful of times in concert and have loved it every time. I really like Linkin Park and Mumford and Sons as well. Usually I'll have a Top 40 Pop song stuck in my head because all of them are so damn catchy...

I'm a huge foodie. I can watch Food Network just about all day, I get way too attached to cooking competition shows. I really enjoy cooking asian inspired foods. I especially like to cook without recipes and try to create my own flavors. I get the occasional bland or strange tasting dinner, but making mistakes is half the fun.

I am also addicted to Podcasts. Most random bits of knowledge I have start with "I heard on one of the podcasts I listen to that..." My favorites are Citizen Radio, Nerdist, Savage Love, MBMBaM, UYD, and This American Life.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Friends - I always make time for friends, even when its inconvenient
The Internet - facebook, wikipedia, noodling on google earth
The Sun - kinda hard to live without the source of energy for life
Good Food - I would be lost if I couldn't cook for anyone
A Smile - There's never a reason to be sad for long.
5 Item Lists - 6 is a strange number to use for a Top X List, 5 fits better
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Random facts, bits of info, or generally how things work.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
I love spending time with friends, whether it's out at a bar or just staying in and playing a board game.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm pretty open about myself, but not real forward about it. Ask me a question and I will answer it honestly.
