I am smart, fun loving, and employed.
My Self-Summary
OK....I have to be honest. Writing is not one of my strong
points.....especially when it comes to writing about myself. I
think one of the silly tests lured me here.....
I am a daddy of one amazing little guy, separated but not
divorced.... yet. So not technically single, but don't let that
scare you away too quickly.... I feel pretty single.... and the
legal status part of it will come in time. In the mean time, lets
be friends and get to know each other. I want to find some good
people to hang out and just be myself with.... and with some luck,
I hope to find a really special friendship that has the potential
to grown into something more.
What I’m doing with my life
Living it.... its day to day at this point. To be honest, some are
good; some are not so good.... but I'm trying to have more good
ones than bad ones. My job is good (employed full time, thankfully)
and keeps me busy. Spending time with my son is good. Other than
that, I really don't know right now. I know that I have some
healing to do in dealing with the fallout of my marriage.... some
self-exploration sort of stuff. I honestly cannot tell where my
life will be in a year....heck, even 6 months. I thought that by
age 34, I would have it all figured out....but I don't. What I DO
know is that I'm going to be a better person at the end of all of
this. One with a lot to offer someone who can be patient with me as
I go through this process.... one who can be open and honest with
me about anything and everything. It might even be you.....
I’m really good at
Hmmm.... another toughy.... I feel that I'm pretty average at a lot
of things. More of a jack-of-all-trades than an expert in any one
field.
The first things people usually notice about me
I am tall...not freakishly tall, but I suppose someone might notice
that. Smile, sense of humor, eyes, are other things that come to
mind. Though, I haven't been told recently....but I haven't asked
either.....hmmm..... You're still reading my profile; what is it
that YOU noticed about me?
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Books: I like to read... unfortunately, I don't make time for it
anymore. I usually like fiction, but not necessarily. I used to
read anything by
Tom Clancy, but its been a long time
even for reading something of his. Lately its been self-help stuff
about emotionally surviving a
divorce....ugh...
Movies: Last one I saw was "Inglourious Bastards". Basically, if
the story is solid, the acting good, and the cinematography is well
thought out, I tend to like it....even sappy love stories or
romantic comedies (been avoiding them lately though...just a lil'
jaded). Lately I've been seeing anything that remotely resembles a
comic book movie (Watchmen, The Dark Knight, Spiderman, Superman
Returns, Star Trek, Transformers2) and historically that sort of
thing too especially things that come in three's (the Matrix
trilogy, the Star Wars trilogies, Lord of the Rings trilogy, Back
to the Future trilogy, etc) But others too....
Music: I like it. Mostly mainstream stuff, but not necessarily.
Rock/alt/pop usually, but again, not necessarily. Some Christian
stuff too (as long as it doesn't suck). Things getting heavy
rotation in my
iPod
right now are
Coldplay,
Kings of Leon,
The Fray,
Katy Perry,
Linkin Park, and
Foo Fighters. Also love
KT Tunstall,
Sheryl Crow,
Weezer,
Barenaked Ladies,
Toad the
Wet Sprocket, (I could just keep going here....)
Food: Again, I like it....period. American, Chinese, Thai, Italian,
Greek, Indian, Japanese, and more.... not a big shellfish fan, but
I will try just about anything once. I like to try to eat healthy
when I can....but sometimes convenience wins.
The six things I could never do without
Well, assuming things like air and water other sustenance are a
given; in no particular order:
- my son (I know...he's not a "thing" but I really couldn't live
without him)
- love (we ALL want to love and be loved)
- good
coffee
(which for me usually means NOT Starbucks)
- good
wine
- my camera (Nikon D60, but looking to upgrade)
- music, I need music in my life
I spend a lot of time thinking about
- My next trip/vacation. I love to travel and see new places.
- Finding lasting happiness in my life....not sure yet if that's
even possible, but I want to try.
- Finding true love in my life, honest love....I'm trying to
believe in that still, in spite of it all.
- How to be a better daddy to my boy.... really just trying to
screw him up as little as possible.
- Learning more about myself and coming to an understanding of who
I am and why I am the way I am (self-discovery kind of
stuff).
I know.... lame.... boring.... but all true.
On a typical Friday night I am
At home.... I have my son every other weekend so I am definitely
home on those Friday nights. On the ones I don't have him, its not
that I don't like to go out; I just don't have a lot of friends
close by to do things with (part of why I'm on this site I
guess).
Other things you might find me doing could include catching up on
my emails or other reading, playing my
guitar (I love my Taylor), or maybe
playing a computer game or watching a dvd of some variety.... and
any of the above is often done while enjoying a good glass of
wine. Want to join
me? I like to share....
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
I tend to be fairly private....but I open up pretty quickly if you
make a sincere effort to get to know me....
But here is something kind of funny that most people would never
guess about me: I took
ballet for a couple years as a
kid....from about age 4 to 6. Seriously. I was one of the "Lost
Boys" in a ballet stage production of "Peter Pan" and got thrown
around by pirates. HA!
You should message me if
If you see or read something you like, go ahead and shoot me a
message. I may message you back if you have something INTERESTING
to say. If you just *wink* at me or say "Hi", I might look at your
profile, but unless I find something really profound there, I doubt
I'll find the motivation to message you back. So come on, get
creative. Make me notice you. I know you've got something good to
say. You can do it. Come on... I'm waiting....
....
....
....
Still waiting.....get on it! :)
