My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'll put it right up front, a relationship is a priority for me! I'll do what is necessary to make it work with the right woman. How about you? Are you catalog shopping all the great men on-line? Or are you looking for a committed relationship with a man who is ready to be vulnerable and give?

While I understand that an enduring relationship takes time, energy and commitment to succeed, I am ready to start that process when I meet you if the chemistry is there. When I meet someone, including a woman I am interested in, I go with the intuition.
.
The woman who attracts me will be around my age, maybe a little younger (not a lot). She will have a mind of her own and still enjoy expressing her feminine nature with her man. She will have warming eye contact and a soft touch at important times. I am tactile/sensual and we will succeed if you are too.

Strenuous physical activity isn't possible for me anymore. Staying in shape and healthy is and a companion helps to keep them in the forefront. Science says that a good walk is 95% as effective as jogging!

I own a small house at the edge Philadelphia's Wissahickon Valley of Fairmount Park. It's quiet even though I am 1/8 mile from a major route to center city. When I said I'd do what is necessary to make a partnership work, there is an exception. I am not ready to move. I've given a lot of thought to the idea.

My ideal partner will live with me or close to me so that visiting is easy, not a trek. I have accepted that I am staying where I am. And hey, perhaps we will decide to make a home together if the stars align just right!

Philadelphia is a wonderful city. And we can see the world together! If you don't live in Philadelphia already, perhaps it is a place you would love to be. It has much to offer. Cultural activities galore, Phillies in person, the Eagles on TV. Lots of international events and museum attractions. I do it all. Parks for walking. The shore is nearby.

My fashion is L.L. Bean casual. I can wear a tie and I own a tuxedo. In warm weather, I prefer shorts.

Food? I like smaller, family operated restaurants. I am a practical cook: quick and tasty. You get lots of points if you also enjoy modest cooking. While I can be educated in alternative diets, mine is straight forward. On my own, chicken and fish are the featured proteins.

My community has always been important to me. Making Germantown a better place for living and shopping is important to me. I tutor local 8th grade students in English and Communication.

Traveling in the USA and abroad with my partner will be a pleasure if we can plan our expenses. We would need to have similar styles and desires. I prefer to bring home memories, gifts and items which preserve the voyage as opposed to lavish hotels, etc.

I spent a week in Paris in October, 2014 to celebrate a reunion of a year abroad class in 1966-67. Sixteen of us, some with spouses, met for a series of events and dinners together.I want to return to France and the use of my French. Parlez vous francais un peu? If you speak Spanish, you can be my guide to other parts of the world.

I am a Unitarian Universalist. I hope my partner will appreciate the Unitarian concept of faith. No dogma. We believe in the dignity and equality of all living things on earth. Its Social Activism activities are important to me. Sharing them with my partner would be an asset to the relationship.

If you think you would like to know more, let's have lunch and see where we go from there!
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
My home requires some regular attention and I am handy at small repairs. My interest in video and audio media will be in the mix. I speak a little French and like to practice it when I can. It stretches my consciousness!

I am active in my local community by helping to improve our commercial and living environment. I record the Sunday service at my Unitarian Universalist community. I tutor 8th grade students in literacy at a nearby school.

I am a casual gardener. I seem to be able to keep plants alive, but I am not very knowledgeable nor an artist.

Local concerts, plays and other entertainment activities are on my calendar too.

And don't forget my grandchildren! Four of them: 7, 5 1/2, and identical twin girls almost 10 mos. old!
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Getting things done for issues that I believe in or solving problems that need to be dealt with.
The first things people usually notice about me

I am friendly. I will cheer you up!
I am ready to help out if I can......
I am authentic, not a creep.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

I enjoy some main stream movies, but mostly arts movies. I enjoy small theater performances, and an occasional marquee event.

I follow the Inquirer daily and I am an avid NPR listener. My taste in music spans the gamut.... blues, folk, rock, some jazz, classical, world music.....not rap in most cases.

I enjoy ethnic foods as well as a good diner. As mentioned earlier, I prefer smaller restaurants over lavish ones.

Network TV is low on my interest list--- Phillies baseball is a weakness.

A good game of Scrabble with my partner is a lot of fun.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
- My grandchildren.
- My relationship with my adult children.
- Companionship with a loving partner.
- My relationship with my Unitarian congregation. www.usguu.org
- The ability to get out and about. I now know what it means to be home-bound with an injury. I smashed a heel bone in 2009. The recovery took two years and I will always have some residual consequences. I ride a bike locally. Would enjoy recreational biking with a partner.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
The wonder of male and female. The many joys we can bring to each other: our bodies, our minds and a joyous spirit. And how we need to find ways to accommodate to each other's needs/wants/talents/differences. Life together is better than life alone!

The political future of our country and the world. Can we have peace? World climate change is also a concern. I wish the doubts about it would disappear! I focus more on local issues in my community.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Relaxing. I often step out on Saturday afternoons for a matinee. I am not very enthusiastic about week night or late night entertainment any more. Sundays I try to attend my Unitarian congregation for the music, thought and company. Sunday afternoon is wide open.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I don't feel complete without a lover. Life is great. There are other private things about me. That's what I am willing to admit.
