I am what I am, a sailor man, and I eats my spinach
My self-summary Propose an edit
I am just a normal guy trying to see what's out there. I'm mostly
harmless (if you get that reference you're cool).
I am from Dallas, moved away for school, and found a job back here
working in a research lab at a local medical school. I am pretty
laid back (but sarcastic). You can usually find me hanging out with
my friends at low key bars or shooting pool. I play pool pretty poorly
but still get a kick out of it. I am hard of hearing (somewhat) and
loud places make it hard for me to respond to people so I smile and
nod a lot
I really like seeing movies (especially ones that few people know
about). I own quite a few (see my favorites list below). I like
sitting around hanging out with friends with a pizza and beer and
watch old 80s movies, laughing at the trends we lived through. I
don't dance or sing but I do support people that do (i.e. if you
get drunk and think you can sing karaoke I'll clap even if you
sound like a rabbit dying).
I am a scientist (which DOES mean I am dorky). But I am not your
stereotypical suspenders and glasses wearing, pants-to-my-armpits,
spastic geek, but I like to think my pocket protector is sexy. No
nerd glasses, sorry. I have 20/20 vision and I don't like having to
keep up the with empty frames.
Really if you want to get to know me you can write me and ask me
questions.
BUT... my life just took a different turn. I plan on going back to
school next year to get my PhD in Neuroscience. So... yay?
What I'm doing with my life Propose an edit
I be a neurobiologist. No. Really. I study the brain for a
living.
I've been told my profession is a bit intimidating. I do not judge
people or look down on people what so ever for being less academic
than me. Just because I chose a certain that doesn't mean I expect
others to have done the same thing. Anywho. I am also filling out
phd applications a lot now... I am tired of those. Yes.
I'm really good at Propose an edit
Conversing. I have been told I am easy to talk to. That actually is
something that has gotten me in a lot of trouble in the past. I
remember things.
I am good at riding the train into work. It's a talent more people
need to learn.
The first thing(s) people usually notice about me Propose an edit
My rapier wit? My kickin' style? Ha! No, probably just the fact I'm
a smart*@!
I tend to smirk a lot (not really smile).
Or the fact my eyes change colors.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food Propose an edit
I own over 200 movies and around 300 books. I could name my
favorites but I'm too lazy.
I collect philosophy books (twas my minor in college).
I am a pretty big Vonnegut fan (and most of the Beatnik
writers).
I enjoy most genres of music; jazz, funk, classics rock, new age,
classical, hip hop (NOT rap), some pop... just depends on my mood
really.
Foooooooood! Food is good. I can usually find something to eat
anywhere (I have no idea how I remain skinny).
The six things I could never do without Propose an edit
Air. Water. Food. Shelter. Family. Stuuuuff? (Stuff can include but
is not limited to the rest of Maslow's remaining list of needs)

The classical things you're not suppose to talk about over dinner.
The commodities market. Why I can't have superpowers (or how to get
them).
On a typical Friday night I am Propose an edit
Hanging out with the Wild Things, where they are. Or if those cats
are hiding under a bed, you can usually find me hanging out with my
friends and/or family.
The most private thing I'm willing to admit here Propose an edit
Ha! I'm pretty much an open book. It gets me in trouble. So ask and
you usually shall receive.
You should message me if Propose an edit
You want. I like talking to new people.
