I am happy, sappy, and rhymes with appy.

My Self-Summary

my name is daniel, and as i mentioned in the section below this one (which you have not read, yet), i attend college in portland, oregon.

i enjoy lots of things which probably sound kind of normal (like cars, photography, music, technology, video games), but tend to enjoy them and/or be enthusiastic about them to a greater extent than most other people, which subsequently makes me a "nerd" about those things.

you are probably thinking "wow, this guy is really boring", but i promise that i am at least slightly not-boring.

i came across this site accidentally, actually, when googling other things, but figured i would make a profile anyway just to see what would happen.

What I’m doing with my life

i go to school at lewis & clark college in portland, oregon, have one semester left, and can't wait to finish. (economics major)

aside from that, i spend money i shouldn't really be spending on my various hobbies and interests, and then spend too much time on the computer discussing these things with other people who have spent too much money on the same things.

currently, these things include nikon camera lenses, and unnecessary upgrades to my 20 year old BMW with which i am in love.

I’m really good at

-telling bad jokes
-being sarcastic

but also lots of other important things, like golf.

for serious, though:
-peggle (i saw someone else had this on their profile, and it reminded me to add it. i am an extreme peggle grand master - 100% on every single level.)
-driving
-i have been told i am good at singing
-sports in general
-hopefully photography since i try so hard
-listening
-memorizing useless/random/obscure information
-video games
-speaking good (please note the sarcasm in this, kthx)
-spanish
-being on the internet

The first things people usually notice about me

my left elbow.

actually, i'm not really sure. i suppose my eyelashes, though, as they are very long. perhaps my teeth.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

music: look here= http://www.last.fm/user/Pioglfr2
here are my most-played artists over the last 18 months:
-azure ray
-paramore
-say anything
-maria taylor
-straylight run
-a fine frenzy
-brand new
-metric
-dashboard confessional
-counting crows
-regina spektor
-the weepies
-shiny toy guns
-coheed and cambria
-kate nash
-something corporate
-alkaline trio
-cake
-ben folds
-saves the day
-third eye blind
-jamisonparker
-blink-182

you get the idea

movies: i have a PS3, and therefore a blu-ray player, so in this section i will share which blu-ray movies i have bothered to spend money on, which should indicate my tastes at least a little bit (i rarely buy movies).
-blazing saddles
-forgetting sarah marshall (fave comedy of 2008)
-horton hears a who
-no country for old men
-pan's labyrinth
-planet earth series
-up
-wall-e

so i suppose one could say comedy, animated, drama, thriller, action, foreign... everything? (i like certain horror movies, too)

books: i don't read, but i usually enjoy the books i do read. my favorites are "a heartbreaking work of staggering genius" by dave eggers and "the shadow of the wind" by carlos ruiz zafon.

food: even though i love food and eating, i am not a big eater, but i love chicken in almost every form, along with mashed potatoes. in terms of food genres- mexican, thai, indian, italian- not necessarily in that order.

The six things I could never do without

just for fun i'm going to turn this into a superficial answer, with rankings.

1. chapstick
2. my iphone
3. my car
4. my camera
5. music through some decent speakers
6. the internets

I spend a lot of time thinking about

-when/where/how to take my next photograph
-what i want to do next
-the distant future

On a typical Friday night I am

probably hanging out with a friend or two, or working. i'm not a party animal although i will have an occasional drink. if i am spending it by myself i might be playing video games (possibly online), watching a movie, researching something online, or being on BMW forums.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I am a little bit obsessed with hayley williams, the lead singer of paramore.

Not a private thing, but interesting nonetheless: I've never been drunk.

You should message me if

-you want to
-you kind of want to
-you see my musical taste and say "hey i know and like most of those bands"
-you enjoy photography and want a photo buddy
-you know what an e30 is (no cheating!)
-you know what a BMW is
-you play peggle
