My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Looking for socially liberal, free-thinking, agnostic and/or skeptical friends or partners which is hard to find and there really isn't a good medium for connecting with like-minded people in Richmond, IN. And not just any non-religious person: if you are a "fuck the world. I hate people" type of person we probably won't click well. More specifically, I'm looking for people who have a lot of empathy for others, who might consider themselves humanists... People who have a desire to make their world better around them.

I imagine friends who get together every once in a while, have a few beers, and just share in one another's lives. There seems to be this odd thing in this town where no one does that. I'm not from here, so to me it's very odd. People actually go straight home from work and don't talk to anyone. Maybe it's me but I think that's dull.

We can all call each other up and take the kids to the park. We could hike trails or go out for ice cream. We've got to make time for fun. Make time for friends and enjoy life while we can. Plan a few trips a year that we'll never forget. Who's with me?
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I have been married for almost 7 years, have two daughters (4 and 6), and I work in a group home for the developmentally disabled. I love my job and my family.

My wife and I are very secure in our polyamory. We don't try to control eachother, but allow eachother the freedom to make our own choices and feel our own feelings, and we love eachother unconditionally.

My interests include anything about science, nature and hiking, video games (some), professional string trick yo-yos, disk golf, pipes and high-grade tobaccos, Russian imperial stouts and other top rated craft beers, piano, guitar and civil rights activism (including fighting for equality and against sexual orientation bigotry).
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Quoting random useless facts Haha! I can paint and play guitar. I recently picked up piano and learned Für Elise in a few weeks. I've committed all the natural chords to muscle memory and have even composed some of my own music. I can do a handful of cool tricks with a yo-yo :P. I also like to study science and religions. I read and write a lot of poetry and I am a pipe and tobacco "connoisseur", though I don't smoke much anymore since I discovered APVs and vaping. I am a big fan of Russian Imperial Stouts among other craft beers.
The first things people usually notice about me

I tend to be quiet and reserved, but I've come a long way over the years.

The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Food, water, the sun, family, friends, learning
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
My kids, the achievements of science, how to enjoy each moment to the fullest.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
playing piano, reading a book, listening to music or watching a show with my wife while sipping a beer.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit

If I wrote it here it wouldn't be private.

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You are interested in having a partner or friend who is adventurous, yet careful... emotional and romanic, yet led by logic. Someone who won't get you into trouble, but if you capture my heart I am loyal to the end of time. And someone who wants to go out for coffee or a beer at least a couple times a week and have meaningful conversations.

We will get along better if you:

1. Have above average empathy and a love for people in general.

2. have an insatiable curiosity and a passion for science and learning new things.

3. Have a zero tolerance for racism, bigotry, or homophobia of any kind.

4. Highly value truth and open, honest dialog.

5. Enjoy ongoing text conversations (it is a great way to connect and communicate discretely while away and running errands).

6. (for potential partners) are willing to become friends with my wife

7. (for potential partners) are either single, or in a relationship in which you have complete freedom and a partner with absolutely no jealousy or insecurity issues.

8. (partners) Value long term relationships even in secondaries, as opposed to short flings.

9. (Partners) like to initiate dates and not just to be asked (I am an initiator as well but I like a two way street).
