My self-summary
Just began year two in the city. Adventure seeking and hungry for culture and new experiences. Love to travel, but it's been too long and I've got my work cut out for me trying to top my last trip. Not being a city guy, I feel like I've been on extended holiday lately. I love to explore, inside and out. Recently sold my house in Santa Cruz and moved to the city. It's been great so far.

I've adopted a pretty healthy lifestyle. Very pro organic, like to be active, exercise regularly. I like to cook every so often, though I make no gourmet claims at this point.

I am easy going, culture seeking, and determined
What I’m doing with my life
Enjoying it - while looking for the next worthy cause. I'm sometimes envious of people who have dedicated their lives to some noble cause. I'd like to feel like my work is making the world a better place - daily - and not have to waste any creative energy trying to convince myself of it. I'm having a hard time leaving my current, cush gig. I do love the freedom I have with it! Some time away to formulate a plan might be in order. I think a yacht and a 6 month sabbatical would do the trick. I'm the type that needs some travel &/or adventure to keep me inspired. I like to learn about new cultures and figure out how to fit into them, even if only for short periods.
I’m really good at
Oh is this where I'm supposed to brag? Ok, without sounding too narcissistic, I'm good at finding the positive in any situation, which is hard to see through my dry, sarcastic jabs at the negative. I'm good at eating, and at burning it off - or my eating would get me into trouble. I'm good at navigation - random, I know, but who likes to be lost all the time?
The first things people usually notice about me
Ok, this should be a good laugh. I was talking with spiritual types a while back (Santa Cruz), and was hearing a similar observation from most of them: my head wasn't attached to my body. This, I was told, meant that I was having difficulty savoring the present moment - fully committing to it. So I've been working on that. Hopefully my head has reattached itself! People who aren't spiritual gurus sometimes comment on my eyes. I've heard they can be intense and intimidating. I usually laugh when I here this.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Was reading spiritual books for a bit. Can't say I have a favorite, though the Tao Te Ching continues to impress. Now reading exercise theory/physiology type books. I read to learn. It's my honest opinion that people who claim to read for "pleasure" don't understand the word pleasure. Though I will admit to liking inspirational books.

I like movies that inspire, that make me laugh or that expand my point of view or broaden my understanding. I also like to laugh my ass off at masterfully written, brilliantly produced, bewildering stupidity.

I love to eat. Ethnic food. Best to date has been in Thailand, though it ruined US Thai food for me :( Still, it's amazing - just go!..

Music - what would life feel like without it? I'm able to appreciate all different types of music. My past is filled with classic rock (still hard to beat the late '60's/early '70's - though I was still an itch then:) and grunge (the best movement since, in my opinion). I'm getting into music of the world now - mellow, ambient, trip-hop, indie, etc. My taste in music is no different than my taste in books, movies or food - I like to be carried off in it.
The six things I could never do without
-Inspiration - though honestly, I'm not yet self-sufficient in cultivating it and/or putting it to good use:) Art helps (music, film, books, etc.), though I'm a novice
-Nature - it nurtures :)
-Tasty, organic (real) food
-Exercise - for endorphins, not for six-pack abs
-Energy - and understanding it
-I can count. Really.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Food! The meaning of life and my duty to it. Space & quantum mechanics. Ego. Meeting her. Monkey brain. I sometimes wish I'd majored in philosophy:)
On a typical Friday night I am
Trying to avoid the typical, though dinner and drinks usually work their way into a friday.
