My self-summary
Nondescript human male, of chinese ethnicity.

Does not believe that self-descriptions are worth much in a world where reality shows are so popular and books like "The Secret" are best-sellers.

I am sometimes-funny, usually-sarcastic, and too-fond-of-hyphens.
What I’m doing with my life
I work in IT, because my degree in Computational Physics left me pretty-much unemployable as anything else.

I moan a lot about the boredom and tedium of being a programmer, but I secretly quite like the work because I can be rather boring and tedious myself. Sadly, I'm still usually the life of the party at office gatherings, which says something about the industry.

Don't date IT guys, guys. Except me, of course.
I’m really good at
Avoiding questions like these.
The first things people usually notice about me
Nothing. People notice nothing about me and forget me quite quickly. I am about as average-looking as humanly possible. People have actually told me this to my face, as if it was a compliment. For a period in my life, this pleased me, because I had vague fantasies of becoming a spy, but it seems nondescript people get passed over for all job interviews.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: Used to read a lot of fantasy fiction, though Terry Pratchett has gotten me happily unhooked. Because "classical literature" paperbacks cost less than a comic book where I live I've been reading a lot of those too. Have a bad habit of being unable to stop reading a book once I start, which means I've powered through Moby Dick and Sweet Valley Girls: Prom Night.

I've read Game of Thrones, but don't watch the TV series. I have no idea where the TV version is at now and will talk to you about latest developments.

Movies: "Wit", starring the lovely Emma Thompson. It's an hour-and-a-half-long melodrama featuring a literature professor dying very, very, very slowly. It reminds me of classes back when I was in school.

Music: Not too picky. Usually like dance anthems and whatever's on the top of the pops. Music is just accompaniment to other more interesting activities, right?

Food: I like well-prepared Japanese food, but mostly just to look at because it's usually very pretty. Taste-wise I like any kind of creamy, fattening condiment. I admit I have eaten sticks of butter.
The six things I could never do without
The sun, earth, air, gravity, pi, gravity, the weak and strong electromagnetic forces, quarks, ... but strangely enough I live quite happily without a Theory of Everything.

But to be serious--a sense of humour is important. Life is sad enough, you have to laugh sometimes.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Whether my fly is undone (which it is too many times for comfort) and how to check without everyone else realizing that I am checking to see if my fly is undone.

Whether or not there is any point in feeling existentialist angst.
On a typical Friday night I am
Playing video games, watching pornography and surfing the interwebs until I pass out. Occupational hazard--I spend a lot of time on computers.
