My Self-Summary

Well, I could tell you what my friends think, but they're my friends, right? Of course they think I'm bright, funny, and a hoot to hang out with. You almost want the curveball where someone describes themselves as distant, derisive, and a vicious egomaniac. Ok, maybe not. So my friends would probably tell you I'm the one who buys the concert tickets, organizes team trivia night, badgers them to try various craft beers, and occasionally wants to discuss foreign policy and the Federal Reserve after a few of the aforementioned craft beers.

Aside from all that, I'm a complete nerd when it comes to baseball, craft beer, and rock n' roll. By the look of things, we'll be getting into this more soon.

What I’m doing with my life

I work in consumer health care, moving toward the technical/leadership aspects of the organization. This is slightly more interesting than it sounds. The corporate lingo really jazzes it up.

I’m really good at

introducing you to music you'll like. For every 10 recommendations, you will not care about 5, like 2, hate 2, and find 1 new favorite. Guaranteed.

Also: spelling, statistics, baseball analysis, crossing the line with jokes, describing beer, keeping things tidy, obscure 80s pop culture references, and wiffle ball.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Books - Moneyball by Michael Lewis; The Revolution by Ron Paul; anything by Chuck Klosterman; Kill Your Idols by Jim DeRogatis; Freakonomics; anything from The Onion; the Baseball America Prospect Handbook

Movies - The Godfather I + II, Pulp Fiction, Animal House, most Mel Brooks, most Christopher Guest, The Life Aquatic, most Tarantino, The Prestige, The Departed, Run Ronnie Run

Music - Pearl Jam, My Morning Jacket, The Afghan Whigs, Pink Floyd, Tool, Clutch, Faith No More, Radiohead, ISIS, The Mars Volta, Queens of the Stone Age

Food - Yes
