I am relaxed, honest, and slightly awkward.

My Self-Summary

I'm hate trying to describe myself like this but I'll give it a shot I guess.

I'm a second year Civil Engineering student at OSU. I love going to school here, but it gets a little too stressful sometimes.

I'm a big fan of roller coasters. My dream job is to be a structural engineer for a coaster company. Trips to random little amusement parks are pretty much all I did this past summer.

I love long drives and bike rides, because they give me time to think and relax, and rock out like an idiot to my favorite music.

I think a lot of this stuff is going to be repeated below, but oh well.

What I’m doing with my life

I'm a second Civil Engineering student at Ohio State. I'll be graduating by March 2012 with a concentration in Structural Engineering, and I would love to some day work for a roller coaster designer.

I’m really good at

Doing a lot with a little. I like to build ridiculous things with random materials I find laying around. I guess I'm also a good listener, because friends tend to come to me with their problems.

The first things people usually notice about me

I never really say much until I get to know people. I dunno why, I just sometimes don't have a lot to say. I also don't do well with large groups- for some reason I have trouble hearing what people are saying to me if there's a lot of background noise, so in a big group of people I have to ask someone who's talking to me to repeat themselves a lot, which is just annoying for both of us... yeah, that's my excuse for shyness I guess.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

I haven't read anything in a really long time, which is unfortunate, because reading used to be a huge part of my life. I just haven't found anything recently that has really held my attention. My favorite books are To Kill a Mockingbird, 1984, and The Stand... and the Harry Potter series.

My favorite movie of all time is Dr Strangelove, which despite what the title might make you think, isn't a porn flick. Some people who have never heard of it look at me weird when I name it as my favorite movie. My other favorites are Airplane, Life of Brian, Taken, Hotel Rwanda, Saving Private Ryan, Watchmen, Hot Fuzz, Welcome to the Dollhouse, and anything with Bruce Campbell (Evil Dead series, Bubba Ho-tep, My Name is Bruce...). There are a lot of really popular movies that I haven't seen at all, but in general I like anything either with an engaging story or that makes me laugh a lot.

I listen to a lot of ska music. I pretty much like anything that's really upbeat, and easy to sing along like an idiot to in my car. My favorite bands are Streetlight Manifesto, Less than Jake, Ted Leo and the Pharmacists, Rx Bandits, the Hold Steady, Flogging Molly, and They Might Be Giants. I'm also randomly a big Iron Maiden fan.

I think Dr Horrible's Sing Along Blog is the most brilliant piece of media ever created.

TV shows should be on here- I'm obsessed with Arrested Development and hate Fox for canceling it. Clone High, The Office, Community, House, NCIS, and Burn Notice are all also amazing.

The six things I could never do without

1. My car, a 1995 Buick Lesabre. My car and I have an extremely abusive relationship. It breaks down and leaves me stranded rather often, but I know deep down it still loves me.
2. A basic set of tools, because I never know when I'll want to build or fix something.
3. Happy, upbeat music, because I just need cheering up sometimes.
4. Holiday World & Splashin Safari in Santa Claus, Indiana, home to three of the best wooden roller coasters in the world.
5. Grape Gatorade G2. It's saved me from having all my teeth rot out from drinking pop all the time like I used to.
6. Obligatory family/friends mention wooo

I spend a lot of time thinking about

How to prepare for the forthcoming zombie uprising. Last year I lived in a 24 story concrete building that was perfect for mounting a defense against zombies should the need have ever arisen. This year, I'm in an 85 year old wooden framed building on the second floor. I'm screwed =(

On a typical Friday night I am

Watching a movie, going to Sheetz or something if it's during the summer, just generally hanging out with friends. I'm not much of a partier, but I do go out occasionally.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I have kiiind of a warped sense of humor from spending a little too much time on the internet.
