My Self-Summary
Even though I don't do it a much as I would like to, I like to play
rugby and board
games (which generally, but not always, entail less physical
contact than rugby) I love words and stories and books. I was a
Classical studies major and am a bit of a lot of a dork, but I'm
cool with it.
What I’m doing with my life
To my surprise, I have become a bit yupipfied am currently working
at a non-profit for educational research. Hopefully I’ll take the
money and go back to backpacking around the world, or around a grad
program. Maybe I’ll just end up woofing here or trying to join a
peace-corp type of program – your guess may be as good as mine.
I’m really good at
Sleeping in public places (airports, train stations, street curbs,
etc.) Scrabble, reading poetry in dead languages and baking challah
bread. I am also awesome at leaving painfully awkward voicemail
messages.
The first things people usually notice about me
maybe "a monkey seems to have given that person a haircut!" (I cut
my own hair and more often than not it seems as if a monkey could
have done it just as well, or even better)
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Books: In the past few months: Mercy, The Brief Wonderous
Life of Oscar Wao, The God of Small Things and Geek Love. In
general, things in the veing of Anne Carson, Bill Bryson, Tom
Robbins, Italo Calvino, and Robert Bly.
Movies: Love Actually, The Gods Must Be Crazy, Amelie, The Thomas Crowne Affair, Little Miss Sunshine, D.E.B.S.
Music: I just got into The Black Kids, Pink, Girlyman, Regina Spektor, Madonna, Ludacris, Sondheim Musicals, some opera - pretty much everything, although I am no officianado. I like to listen to music I like, but don't have a sense of new and exciting bands until my friends make me cds.
Food: cherries, artichokes, greens,tomatoes, cheese, Vietnamese and Afghan food. Pretty much anything in season that you want to teach me how to cook. and vegan canned babies.

The six things I could never do without
A notebook and pen, a bike, some alone time, access to large bodies
of fresh water and coffee.
